Just beat me too it...RIP Timothy West. A great actor and a thoroughly nice guy. I loved watching the Great Canal Journey's series with his wife Prunella Scales. He'll be sadly missed no more so than by her.
Amazingly as I posted it he appeared on a TV program I was watching. As you say, he was a fine actor, and in so many varied roles.Just beat me too it...

A man with a nose so broken he was in profile whichever way you looked at him.Brian Goldbelt Maxine, wrestler when wrestling was real.
His ilks legacy, are you meanin all Politicians Raumy? UTBI'd call Robin Cook or Tony Benn principled, Two Jags not so much.
Reading his obituaries it's striking how little he contributed to the meat and potatoes of government, he was no visionary, no pusher of beneficial policy or reform. He was simply valuable to Blair and Mandelson due to his ability to 'tell the working class what to do in their own accent' as Tory sketch writers wrote.
Sad for his family he's passed away but the current decaying state of the country is his ilk's legacy. It's not something I'll celebrate.
