RIP Darth Vader

was the first film I ever saw at the cinema as a small boy. I thought it was real and asked my parents why we didn't have a flying car!

Showing how young you are there Radford. The first film I saw was “ the man from Laramie “ back in those days you had to wait for the big films to come to your local cinema which meant in Skegness you got nothing in the winter but all the latest ones quickly in the summer for the holidaymakers

I went to the Savoy on derby road. it had double seats at the back and you could smoke (not that I was smoking at that age).

My local cinema was the gaumont.
Right old flee pit. Lights didn't work ushers had weak torches.
Only upside was you could have numerous quickies or blowjobs and nobody cared.
Saturday morning matinées for 2p, some right tasty girls and you were well away.
Ah well who wanted to watch the grainy old film anyway.
BTW this was just after WW2.
Have things changed yet??.

First film I remember watching was a sinbad film 1970s ?

Then in due course Jaws and Star Wars

Jaws made sure I never went in the sea again for a decade at least! Still get nervous now anywhere warm enough for Sharks

(It didn't help when on the paralympics last week they mentioned one of the swimmers had become a paralympian last year after losing a leg in a shark attack!)

Much later in life I remember queueing for 2 hours to see Titanic

And when I finally got to the front of the queue the ticket guy said

"Women and children only!"

The good thing about the Titanic film is, that no matter how many times you watch it, it always goes down well ..........
