I liked Ray the man, a true gentlemen. My funniest recollection of him though was when he played for England in a European Championship. At the time he was famous for hardly moving over the half way line as a MF player, but in one game he suddenly appeared on the edge of the opposition box to which the commentator responded “Is that Wilkins? He must have put his shirt on back to front!” Happy memory of a nice guy. R.I.P. Ray.
