He was an outstanding talent and one of my favourites - a great loss. I loved him in Galaxy Quest and Die Hard. As someone said recently "It really isn't Christmas until Hans Gruber falls from the top of the Nakatomi Plaza". His role in the Harry Potter movies was played with great empathy. RIP Alan.
 
Probably not a popular movie outside of Ireland but he played the part of Eamonn DeValera in the movie Michael Collins. He nailed it.

He was a great Sheriff of Nottingham too.

I know it's comparing apples with pears but Alan Rickman was the bigger talent in my eyes.

Downloaded the "Dogma" film. Was going to watch it tonight but seeing as Skoorb got me on the sherbet early ( City match review) might postpone 'til Sunday.
