Unless a long shot the word Nephilim means different to what we interpret today and ginats is a metaphor? I'm so proud of you Clive!!! I was so worried you'd believe me.

I tend to agree. There is often a grain of truth in many of the Bible stories. There are some, however, that are just myths designed to answer questions they couldn't any other way. The probably found giant bones/fossils, and couldn't determine what animal they were from, so giants had to be invented.

Now this is a proper fair argument and would explain them not understanding things but trying to imagine how giant ''dinosaur'' etc etc bones could be and what they was,,,,,defo see that could well be the case Heath dude

This is why i love talking about things cos i tried hard to wonder why would they make up such a weird story etc, then seeing others take on it puts things into perspective or at least makes you think, good stuff

Except they wasn't talking about fossils at all. They were talking about the son's of Anak - giant people and the descendants of the Nephilim. The reports came back that they were larger than the average human.

The area and time where the Nephilim lived could also coincide with the building of the Pyramids. It's already reported that people with RH negative could be somewhat "smarter" than your average guy. Fascinating stuff, taking the bible accounts of the Nephilim as giants serious does lead to a real question into our history etc but the trouble is getting the proof that this bloodline is directly linked to the ancient theories of Nephilim, i don't see how they could prove this?

I loved reading ''The City Of The Gods'' 1&2 a dutch author forget his name i used to enjoy readingthose on the pyramids and his belief that ancient gods visited earth in our past teaching us things, there does seem to be unexplained events etc, my feeling is mixed, there is a case for something like this happening OR we have been in the same scenario as mankind evolving but keep being knocked back through catastrophic world wide events like Asterioids or Volcano's etc and it kind of resets our evolutrion,,,,,this would explain how we was so clever back in the ancient days but right now it is fascinating wondering how we built magnificent structures etc

Nothing has been proven. Nothing has been answered. The book you mention has been torn apart from cover to cover on several levels. You can't use the Bible to prove the Bible. It is just nonsense. No wonder you enjoyed it.

The average height of the men of Israel in Biblical times was just 168 cm or 5'6", very similar to the average height of men in rural China today. The average height of Dutch men (known as some of the tallest people on the planet right now) is 185 cm or 6'1"

Have you ever stood beside someone 7" shorter (or taller) than you? The difference is significant, such that someone 7-10 inches taller than the average might be called a giant.......just like Goliath. These are the sort of normal variances that environment and genetics throws up today.

Me too!!!! What are the odds? FotN were just another band touring at the time, after the Sisters split up. What a couple of old Goths we are!!
 
I was confused, both goth and rocker.........basically anything thag involved dressing scruffily and thinking I was shunning conformity (oh the irony of youth)
