Schadenfreude
/'???d(?)n?fr??d?,German '???d?n?fr?yd?/
noun
noun: Schadenfreude; noun: schadenfreude
pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune.
I know, I know. It is mean to take pleasure from someone else's suffering......but after the lifetime of having crap shovelled down my throat by rag fans who never seem to hold back in their gloating (remember the banner?) I have to admit to the latest evidence of squirming and mealy mouthed questioning of Guardiola's credentials given that I know, I just know, had he agreed to join their club then they would have right out there bragging about how good he was. They are no strangers to hypocrisy.
Guardiola still has things to prove, he does not know the Premier League, he will find it 'different over here'.........but then so did Pellegrini and he won two trophies in his first season.
So apart from enjoying the pleasure of seeing City move on and upwards in the eyes of the football world, I am also going to feel a bit of additional warmth from the discomfort being felt by the Stretfords.....
I will make sure I mention it when I next go to confession. It will be worth the Hail Marys I will be asked to recite......
