Even more so at Forest Green. With Manny Monthe and Fabien Robert told to find new clubs (if they can), only Chris Doidge remains from their promotion squad 12 of months ago, and he could be on his way in the next few weeks too.
 
I have decided to move Bruno to the forwards section, as comments from Danny over the last couple of days suggest he sees him as a striker. So:

Anderson should be moved also as he's a winger and they have always been forwards, unless as you say Danny is trying to disguise the fact from other teams.

Current practice in English football is to treat wingers as midfielders, not as forwards like when I was a boy etc. The old centre forward and inside forwards are the modern day strikers in our game.
 
Also when I was a boy too. We also had 5 forwards attacking not just one or two. But how times have changed.
 
It actually makes sense to call wingers midfielders now because their role in the team has changed more than any other. You would never have seen Finney or Matthews tracking back to defend as is required of today's wingers, any more than you would see a centre forward doing so. Simply being a good attacking wide man is no longer enough in today's game.

So, need a minimum of three more? A RB, a left-sided CB and a striker, otherwise we have the basis of our team for the coming year, though that still only gives us 19 if Ollie goes, which looks likely. Wasn't 22 mentioned as the ideal number?

19 with 2/3 decent loans would be just about enough. But barely so.

FGR have turned their squad over every transfer window, seems to be the Cooper way.
 
Definitely need some wingers (1/2?) adding to that list. We seem to like taking on young loanees to play on the wing though so my guess is we'll take on a couple of PL/championship youngsters on loan closer to season start.

Are we going with wingers this year though? May we be going with a 5 man midfield?
