In some respects my grandma is a lucky lady with friends and family that care - so there's a rota of when people go lol

Not in some respects. In every respect she is a lucky lady. She has family who love care and are there for her. So many aren't' Barney. it's quite scary how many people don't get visitors in homes.

yes, in some respects. Shes hardly lucky being put into that place is she? but lucky that she has family going in every day.

No she isn't. I take your point on board, however the best thing you can have in life, is a loving supportive family to ensure your needs are met.

Glad to hear your Gran is happier and they are treating her better. I hope it has kicked there back sides over the other people in their too.

Glad you still have inspectors going in. As Gator said, yes there on rubbish money etc. etc. however if you can't be bothered/or won't do your job properly then move over for someone who will, is my view.

The staff wouldn't like if it it was there own parent, so why do it to others? As Gator says a warped lazy persona

my view on it is , you don't do care for money (well you do because you have to live, but there are other jobs that pay more, like Sainsbury's) you do care because you care.

yeah, inspectors will still be going in, even though my grandma is happy and being treated properly, because others might still be being treated that way - and don't have a family member to speak up for them.

Exactly Barney. Care work is vocational not just a means to an end. Not a job I would want. When my eldest was tiny I went for a part time job in a care home. I refused it.

I couldn't have done it. I remember seeing this old man sitting in a wheelchair in the hall way covered up in blankets to keep him warm whilst he waited to be moved, to wherever next.

Too much for me. Didn't take it as I knew I wouldn't deal well. Looking as well at perhaps your own future. You have to be a certain persona to do that sort of work.

What we did for Mom was hard enough however love etc. was why. I do believe certain work is down to vocation and not just about any old job, to pay the bills
