Nixon says Gabriel is now likely to remain in Forest's first team squad and not go out on loan. He played a full match for them yesterday and apparently played well. He also doesn't want to go on loan. Nixon says they may offer Richardson as an alternative. He is 20 and may have been on loan at Exeter last season. At this stage we should only be taking people who are better than we have got.

I did say we were looking at more than Gabriel at right back. Don't rule out a permanent there.

Richardson has same agent as Kaikai, Ward etc but didn't nail down a spot at Exeter last season and actually played a chunk of games at left back. It'd be a no from me.

DR, DC and SC seem to be the places that most need strengthening? Yates and Madine might become the players we need there, but if something better becomes available it would be hard to say no.

I think NC will bring in a Mitchell/Garbutt type on the right.

We look short of cover at DC, and he doesn't seem keen on Thorniley either. Husband and Williams are possible stop gap cover DCs, I guess.

I find it a bit hard to define. Robson plays deeper than Ward and Anderson. Anderson tends to play advanced left, Ward advanced right - but not in wide positions. A bit halfway house. I think?

Shaw doesn't count towards the cap. Presumably he will train with us during week and then play for them.
