One game to go to the end of the season. In the crucial fixtures as far as we are concerned, here is the form guide of the concerned clubs in the past 8 games since resumption of the season, and their position in the table:

6 Cardiff WWDWLLWW = 16 points
24 Hull LDWLLLLL = 4 points

5 Forest DWWDLDDL = 10 points
17 Stoke DLLWLWDW = 11 points

15 Reading DLLWDWLL = 8 points
7 Swans WLDWWLDW = 14 points

It looks an insurmountable task to dislodge Forest and Cardiff but all we can do is make sure we win at Reading.
It’s a case of what might have been in these last 8 games, but for our inconsistency, being unable to see games out, conceding late goals, and the curse of ex-players scoring against us.

Middlesboro 0 - Swans 3
Swans 0 - Luton 1
Millwall 1 - Swans 1
Swans 2 - Sheff Wed 1
Birmingham 1 - Swans 3
Swans 0 - Leeds 1
Forest 2 - Swans 2

Swans 1 - Bristol City 0

Reading are managed by Mark Hughes’ ex-sidekick Mark Bowen from Neath (remember them in charge of Southampton 8 May 2018 at the Liberty in the 0-1 defeat that relegated us from the PL).
Reading’s last game out was a 4-3 defeat at Blackburn where they conceded the winning goal in the 87’.
Bowen’s after match comments:
"It really was a game of massive peaks and troughs. There were periods where we looked ragged and we looked as if we weren't engaging and the commitment to get up for challenges wasn't there.
Then all of a sudden, we flicked a switch and we had periods where you think we're back on, controlling our own destiny and we're on top in the game. That was the case overall for both teams really. But when you get back to 3-3 with guts and resolution, you think there's only one team to go on and win it, but again we failed to make a key decision at a key time which has ended up costing us the game. I bang on all day long that we're seeking consistency and we need to learn to see games out."
The reverse fixture at the Liberty against Reading 28 Sept 2019:

Swansea 1 (Borja 3’) - Reading 1 (Yiadom 90’) - yes another late goal conceded, and top spot in the table relinquished to West Brom.

We should beat them. They're nothing special at all, we have something to compete so I expect us to win quite comfortably. They've got some quality in places but I still expect us to be too much for them, especially now as we look half decent in a 3412

We look much better with a back three and wing-backs last few games, the situation forced upon us with injuries to defenders.
It’s a shame we hadn’t tried it earlier in the season as the formation seems to suit us much better, and we look more of an attacking threat
Good luck to the lads tonight!
