A good day but was tinged with disappointment because of Dawson. Really wanted him to come back.

Cant believe there was absolutely no mention of most of these incomings & outgoings until about 5.00pm last night when it all kicked off so hats off to the admin of the club for the major effort. It was top work and just wouldn't have been possible under the Fawaz ownership. Can you imagine Fawaz and the Tilfrit guy or whatever his name was pulling off these deals?

He'd be too busy shooting elephants.

How was it for you?

10/10. Can't wait for summer to get rid of the few spineless bottlers who remain at the club and to see 5 or 6 more quality players coming in.

I think unlike recent purchasing sprees we know most of the players who have come in and have a pretty good idea of what they are capable of.
Looks like astute work in replacing deadwood with proven talent in the main. Some very exciting players in the mix.
Shame about Dawson but otherwise looking good.
I'm impressed... now Karanka has this squad, the pressure will quickly be on to get some decent results. Exciting times!

It's a pity that the two other defenders fell through, one going to Bolton and, disappointedly, Dawson having to stay at Hull.

Sounds like Dawson is gutted. Like to have him back now. He could have really helped Worral and our back line. Maybe one for the Summer.

No out and out Leftback, either. But a goal keeper and centre half were brought in. So good news there. And both were badly needed. But Forest still need a couple of centre halves and a left back in the Summer.

SA.

A 9? Dawson would have made it a ten..?

Ten compared to standard Jan transfer windows...and finally overhauling the midfield. Long time coming.

I wonder if we have our eyes on a left back who is without a club or who can terminate their contract so we could sign them although the window is closed.

Same as many, 9 .

True, we didn't get a specialist LB, but other than that the only blemish was Hull messing us around over a central defender. (That's not like them!)

Dawson would have been ideal.

If the Watson signing falls through I might downgrade to 8.

A good strong window for lots of reasons. Needed a left back and another centre back to be a superb window and another striker would have made it practically perfect.

8... would have been 10 but missing out on cahill was very disheartening. :59:

and i think we still need def

As ever, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. I think that they players we've signed look brilliant, but we do need to see first.

Excited for the Hull game though to see Guedioura, Tomlin, Colback and co. Some proper quality players and that is what we have been missing from the team outside isolated pockets.

Only down side was Dawson, but even that was a positive. That we went for him in the first place is hugely positive, and it's not like we were offering peanuts for gold-plated not getting him was a frustrating but sensible decision from Hull who would have been hugely short defensively if they let him go. Nothing that could have been done.

The dickheads who played the other day didn't go, but after that display i'm not surprised. They won't be in the team much, that's for sure

Does anyone seriously think that McGinn and the rest of Warburton's targets would have been better than what we got?

The impressive thing for me was the speed that Karanka not only identified the shirkers, but actually did something about them & shipped them out. The incomings look good, but it remains to be seen how they work out. If they don't do as well as expected and there are always risks when signing any players, we will soon be complaining about the signing of journeymen. I expect some will do better than others, and some may take time to settle. Shame we missed out on Dawson, can't remember the last time anything good came out of a deal that had anything to do with Hull. All in All very good, looking forward to seeing the names on team sheet on Saturday
