Firstly a big thank you to all who took the time to contribute to these threads throughout the season. We've had some pretty decent refs this season , and we've had some muppets. What has been pretty consistent though has been a general agreement in when we have had a decent one irrespective of the result from virtually all contributors

Top of the refs this season was Bobby Madeley who scored an incredible average of 8.95 for the away match at Hull on the 2nd of February.

Madeley also managed an average score of 8.19 for the home game against MK Dons in April.

Acknowledgement should be also given to three other officials who averaged over 8 in a game this season...Carl Brook for 8.3125 for the home match against Portsmouth (that score being attained in a defeat making it more impressive), Christopher Sargisson scoring 8.2 for the cup match against Accrington in January and Graham Salisbury for the same score in the away match at Swindon.

So to the ones which didn't shine quite a brightly. It will come as no surprise to anyone that John Busby is at the very bottom of the pile for his 'performance' in the away game at Peterborough scoring a quite incredible score of -11302.07 average, which if ever beaten will be a miracle.

So onto 2021/22 season and the wish for more Madeley's than Busby's

Thank you all again

Good work Sedgley, thanks for running it

Great stuff Sedgley, I know how long it takes to run these features.

You will need to learn how to spell Bobby Madley's name, though...:giggle:

All human and we shouldn't criticise them...
They make genuine mistakes...
I will never have a go at ever again after taking it back up again...
I'm sure you can all guess who said that?

See the ref who gave Posh the dodgy penalty has been promoted.
What? Where did this come from and how has he been promoted? Surely a ref who makes such a blinding very very basic error, when he’s right in the right place to see the incident clearly, should not be rewarded? I know his ranking is over a season but doesn’t the assessor have a say in this - doesn’t he see the video playback aftterwards?

It is a condition of the personal contract he had with Darragh MacAnthony so he can give them penalties in the Championship
