Palmer 7 Nothing he could do with the goal against. Thought he commanded his area in testing conditions and that quick throw led to our winner

Poole 6.5 Steady if unspectacular. Should have scored from that free header though
Montsma 7 Pretty decent against the bombardment
Jackson 7 As per Lewis
Edun 6.5 Okay if a little careless with his passing today

Grant 7 Hard working and a great ball for the winner
Mcgrandles 6.5 Did the dirty work but seemed a little outnumbered in the centre first half
Johnson 5 Seemed tired and subdued

Scully 7 Busy in his short time and persistence paid off with his goal.
Rogers 6.5 Worked very hard defensively today which I don't think has been acknowledged and put himself about. Played a big part in the winner

Hopper 8 Sometimes the MOM is down to one piece of brilliance and that was Hopper today. Had a lot to do for his goal but did it superbly

Bramall 6 Fine

Mark of a good side is sometimes to eke out a result when not at it's best. Today we eked.
Palmer 6 - secure as ever and distribution largely back to scratch.
Poole 6.5 - settling in, still occasionally on a different wavelength but secure in defence, more of a presence in attack and maybe should have got his first goal.
Edun 6.5 - started well at LB, less effective in midfield before withdrawn.
Montsma 7 - another lesson in the physicality of the English game.
Jackson 7.5 - as irreplaceable as Hopper while Walsh is out, stepped up to the mark.
Grant 7.5 - great ball for the winner, hard graft allied with playmaking, turning into a superb all round midfielder.
Johnson 6.5 - a threat although a less vibrant one, struggled for influence in midfield, more dangerous up front, spasmodic involvement.
McGrandles 8 - fought for the midfield, supported attack and defence, great around midfield performance at the coal face.
Hopper 8 - always there for the out ball and a handful for the defence. Provided the one real quality moment for a well taken goal.
Scully 6.5 - real poacher's goal, hampered by early injury and maybe stayed on too long.
Rogers 7 - game without the ball has really come on, not his best game with ball at feet against some tough defending.

Bramall 6 - early introduction and team alterations due to Scully's injury disrupted rhythm and still learning role in the team.

Palmer 7: Solid, nothing he could do about their goal and distribution much better.
Poole 7: Thought he looked pretty solid and was heavily involved at times.
Edun 6: Not great, but not poor either.
Montsma 7: Defended well, won a few headers and helped repel a lot of Wigan pressure.
Jackson 7.5: Like a Trojan at the back and not much got past him. Amazing how a player of his quality and age (26) has played less than 130 games in his career.
Grant 7: Tried to get things moving as ever and did a lot of good defensive work. When the going gets tough, he pulls his sleeves up.
Johnson 4: Just wasn't at the races. I thought he should have been given a rest and stand by that after watching him meander through 90 minutes.
McGrandles 6.5: Didn't really stand out, but put a solid shift in.
Hopper 8: Standout player again. Works so hard for the team – at both ends – and the way he took his goal... excellent.
Scully 7: Showed yet again what a goal poacher he is as he gambled and it paid off. A right fox in the box. Hopefully his injury is not too serious.
Rogers 5: I can't remember him doing an awful lot.

Bramall 6: A couple of decent runs down the line, but defending still leaves something to be desired.
