Four goals, could have been ten; twenty shots; a Lancaster flypast; home debut goals for Akinde and Toffolo; a debut for the Premier League's Shackell; a debut for O'Connor; a winning start for the new captain; warm sunshine; singing Sloop John B at Phil Brown; joint top of the league after two games; what's not to like?

Deadline is 5pm on MONDAY due to the Port Vale game.

Vickers: 6.5 Didn't have a great deal to do, but made one very good reflex save in the first half. Half a mark for that, but basically a spectator.
Eardley: 7.5 Did what Eardley does. Good shot on goal too.
Bostwick: 7.5 Gave the ball away very early on, but was solid as a rock after that. Good poacher's goal to boot. I know my view is not the popular one, but centre half is his best position.
Wharton: 8.5 How this bloke isn't a regular in Blackburn's side, I will never know. England international in the making.
Toffolo: 8 Excellent performance and a goal on his home debut.
Frecklington: 7 Surged forward on a couple of occasions, which he wasn't doing last season. Perhaps the captaincy will now bring the best out of him.
O'Connor: 7 Solid debut, and unlucky not to score.
Anderson: 8 The Harry of old! Three superb runs, they couldn't stop him.
McCartan: 7.5 Great touch on the ball, but tailed off in the second half.
Andrade: 8 What a player we have here! End product needs work, but has already made the transition to League football with no problems at all.
Akinde: 6.5 Half a mark for the penalty, but clearly not fit.

Pett: 6.5 Helped take the game away from Swindon.
Shackell: 6.5 One great block, just stood in the way. Swindon didn't get a sniff after he came on.
Green: 8 An assist and a goal in 13 minutes. What strength we have on the bench now. Put the game beyond Swindon almost single-handedly.

Vickers 6.5 - Lightning off his line to smother the ball, great concentration
Eardley 6.5 - solid at the back and sensible support of the wingers
Bostwick 7 - Provided the metal when he stepped into midfield
Wharton 7 - Towering headers and composed on the ball
Toffolo 6.5 - Got forward well and confidently to score the goal
Frecklington 6 - Held midfield together
O'Connor 6.5 - Tired at the end but some great touches and composure
Anderson 7.5 - Really took the game to them just needs a bit more end product now
McCartan 7 - Finds space really well and very purposeful in possession
Andrade 7 - A handful particularly in the second half. Finished strongly
Akinde 6.5 - Not match fit yet but you can see with some of his touches he is going to be a real handful when he is.

Pett 6.5 - Shored up the midfield at a crucial time and became the play maker
Shackell 6 - Could see how quickly he was organising the defence
Green 7.5 - Goal and assist in 20 mins or so. Real live wire.

Would normally except to see more 8/9’s when we’ve won 4-1 having dominated most of the game. Just shows the standard we are setting ourselves and the potential this team has.

Vickers 6 - Only down to having very little to do, bar that shot in the first half
Eardley 7.5 - Solid
Bostwick 7.5 - Solid in defence and midfield
Wharton 8 - Thought he did better than Bostwick
Toffolo - 7 - Efficient
Frecklington 7.5 - Always pressing
O'Connor 7.5 - As above
Anderson 8 - They couldn't deal with him.
McCartan 7 - Good first half, quiet second as we saw less of the ball
Andrade 7.5 - Did well down the left with Toffolo
Akinde 7 - Showed glimpses of what we can expect

Pett 6.5 - Gave us more energy in the closing stages
Shackell 6.5 - Didn't really have to do anything
Green 6.5 - Goal and assist

Vickers 6.5 much quieter game for our super stopper, hope he has loads of these this season!
Eardley 7 solid as ever
Toffolo 7.5 good game and a goal
Bostwick 7.5 as above
Wharton 7 barely missed a header solid as usual
Frecklington 7 good first game as skipper
O'Connor 7 did well in his first start, tired understandably
Anderson 7.5 back to his old self, a nuisance!
Andrade 8 my motm this guy is going to be a star IMHO
McCartan 7 did well and like links it up the play very nicely
Akinde 6.5 getting better with every game, supercool penalty

Pett 6.5 played his part once he came, nice assist for no.4
Shackell 6.5 going to be important isn't he?
Green 7 a goal and an assist not bad at all!

Vickers: 6.5 Fairly quiet game for him. One good save but mostly untroubled.
Eardley: 7 Decent game
Bostwick: 7 Decent game and pinched a goal. Bit sloppy first half but excellent second
Wharton: 7.5 Very good performance winning every header
Toffolo: 8 Good goal on Home debut.
Frecklington: 6.5 Got forward and seemed confident as captain.

Will have to 'Normalise' this markings now against the previous seasons now then.

There were times when Swindon players just looked bemused and simply didn't know what to do to keep up with us. We didn't dominate the whole game, but when we did I was 'mildly' excited to watch us ??. Expectation levels are building DC - sorry!
Vickers - 7 - quieter game but did what he had to do well. One or two mishit kicks.
Eardley - 7.5 - best RB in the league
Bostwick - 8.5 - MoM. Just one word - immense.
Wharton - 7.5 - so glad we have him back again. Pure class for one so young.
Toffolo - 7.5 - superb support down left & so good to see a LB getting into the box & scoring.
Frecklington - 8 - covered so much ground and demanded the ball the whole game. Looked good alongside O'Connor and think Captain is his role.
O'Connor - 7.5 - first time I've seen him. Pure class. Composed, unhurried and plays a lovely ball. He's going to be awesome on that showing once he gets fully fit.
Anderson - 7.5 - needs to improve his final ball, but what a great move to let him loose on Taylor. Tore him apart. Great to see him back to what we know he can do.
McCartan - 7.5 - covers an enormous amount of ground, has pace and plays some lovely little balls. His movement is great.
Andrade - 7.5 - first time I've seen him - he's going to be frightening most of the defences in this league.
Akinde - 6.5 - showing some good movement and nice touches. Want to see him play off the shoulder and burst away with pace & strength to score (seen it on Youtube so he needs to do it for us). Great for him to get off the mark, even though it was a penalty.

Pett - 6.5 - did well when he came on. Still thinkwe have yet to see the best of him, but think the systems we play this year are suiting him better.
Shackell - 7 - showed his class. Unruffled, composed and reads the game well.
Green - 8 - what more can you ask of a player who comes on, sets one up and scores one. As DC says - a "finisher".

Vickers - 6.5 - not a great deal to do but when called upon, he was there.

Eardley - 7.5 - another superb performance and nearly scored, too!
Bostwick - 8.5 - my MotM; a total rock wherever he plays, scored one and nearly another.
Wharton - 8 - one of his best games for City. A real rock.
Toffolo - 7.5 - super show topped by his ungainly goal.
Frecklington - 7.5 - he gets better with every game, especially now alongside O'Connor.
O'Connor - 7.5 - a very solid performance, deserves to keep his place.
Anderson - 8 - almost back to his best, some great runs. Just needs to iron out the mistakes, like the one that lead to their penalty.
McCartan - 7.5 - He is going to become a crowd favourite sometime soon.
Andrade - 8 - superb performance; his best so far.
Akinde - 7 - nerveless with the penalty. Getting close to his best.

Pett - 7 - looked good going forward, excellent ball for Green to score.
Shackell - 7 - game-changing moment when he came on letting Bozzie go back into midfield.
Green - 7.5 - Wow, just wow!

vickers 6.5 little to do,kicking still to improve
eardley 6 poor distribution below his norm
bostwick 8 he was good in 2 positions, total quality
wharton 7.5 keeps impressing and expect goals from set pieces.
toffolo 7 great going forward and has goals in his makeup plus solid defender.good energy
frecklington 6 still to get back to his peak i`m uncertain of his role on pitch,is it now only a holding spot
o connor 6.5 shades of quality and once 100% will deliver. a clever player with quality touch and vision.
anderson 7.5 ran his nuts off and just end product to fix(his mojo now back...knows that he has competition for his spot.)
mccarton 7.5 key influence on our attacking profile, reads the game skilful, shooting boots to improve, brings wide men into play.very impressed with him.
andrade 7 took up good positions and just the final ball or option to improve on.good home debut.needs a goal in the league.
akinde 6.5 still blending in to pattern of play ,some good moments,we will ignite his burners and i expect goals

green 7.5 top drawer scored and made one
shackell 6.5 looked confident, little to do
pett 6 did not threaten opposition but held the ball and decent in possession.
lacks confidence, hope he comes good in a side that passes through the thirds as this will suit him.
