Vickers: 4 Not the first time recently he has been involved in a shambles at the back. If he can't kick any more, he shouldn't be playing. Becoming a liability because opposing teams know he has problems.
Eardley: 6.5 Limited crosses into our box from his wing and was one of our main attacking threats again. Did not contribute to the defensive hara-kiri.
Bostwick: 5.5 Looked uncertain at times, possibly due to the disasters going on around him, possibly because he might have been feeling the injury. Hopefully not a recurrence of the same calf strain, but it didn't look good.
Shackell: 4 That's 2 for the first half, 6 for the second. It will be a shame if that is his Lincoln City swansong.
Toffolo: 7.5 MOM by quite a distance, involved in defence, midfield and attack.
Anderson: 6.5 Tried to get things moving in the second half and earned an assist if not the goal he should have scored.
Morrell: 6.5 Not as influential as of late, but oozes class when he gets the ball. Hopefully this was not his Lincoln City swansong either.
Grant: 6.5 Made some lovely passes in the second half; looks a much better player in the centre, but we really missed O'Connor behind him.
Payne: 5 No impact.
Hesketh: 6 Good at times, anonymous at others. Picked up a ludicrous yellow card for an offence that a Sunderland player had got away with no more than 2 minutes before.
Walker: 6.5 Looked more disconnected than in recent games, but another goal earns him an extra half-mark.

Bolger: 6.5 Very solid when he came on and eliminated the footballing drivel at the back. Quite why he had been dropped in the first place, I don't know.
Akinde: 6 Was a real nuisance when he came on, but one mark off for the horrendous fluff 90 seconds into the second half. If that had gone in as it should have done, who knows what might have happened in that second half?

Vickers: 3.5 Has to deal with the basics, has not got the confidence or ability to fanny about with the ball. Has he learned nothing from previous games? Unacceptable.
Eardley: 6.0 Bog average, did little constructive first half. More involved after the break. A few decent crosses.
Bostwick: 5.0 Probably went out not fully fit, too slow when in a combo with Shacks, some blocks may have prevented us being further behind.
Shackell: 2.5 A shockingly poor display of abject schoolboy defending. Too slow physically but also in thought. Irrelevant that he was better second half, we had lost it by then. Almost forgot how to clear the ball or pass it forwards. A game too far?
Toffolo: 7.0 The only player who consistently tried to get things going positively. Chased and harried.
Anderson: 6.0 Good when we are good, has the pace and physicality to get more involved.
Morrell: 6.0 Some wonderful skill at times but too obvious at others. Must have wondered what the hell was going on in defence. Not so hard into the tackle, on his way?
Grant: 6.5 Similar to Morrell's performance but with just a little more confidence on the ball. Sometimes robbed to easily.
Payne: 5 A light weight in a midfield of comparative lightweights, no real influence.
Hesketh: 6 The odd bit of creativity, seldom a threat but did alright.
Walker: 6.5 Sime good touches, worked his way into the game and nicked the goal.

Bolger: 7.0 Showed how to defend in a simple way. What a difference to have some mobility in there. Should not have been dropped
Akinde: 5.0 Considering his physicality, such a powder puff in the box; a striker that cannot strike. What a difference it might have made if he had scored right at the start of the second half. Some decent flicks and hold up play but always, always well away from goal.

Vickers 5 - Should have done better with the second and third goals, one very good save in the first half, overall handling better in the second half
Eardley 5.5 - Was no match for their left winger in the first half, second half defended better and went forward a few times
Bostwick 5 - Made one goaline clearance but seemed well off the pace, not sure if he was carrying an injury at the start of the game which might explain the performance
Shackell 4 - I wondered if this was too soon for him, unusually well off the pace in the first half, did improve during the second but the damage had been done by then
Toffolo 6.5 In my opinion the best of the defence, went further forward than most during the first half although might have done better with their first goal and should never ever pass back as he did during that catastrophic second goal. Apart from that was very solid.
Anderson 5 - Didn't really make much of an impact apart from the shot for our goal which he deserved to score
Morrell 6 - A part of a often overrun midfield first half but was much better in the second
Grant 5 - Didn't really notice too much, a lot of our attacking play seem to go through him
Payne 4 - Not an impact at all, was subbed at the break
Hesketh 6 - Was a part of most of our attacking play
Walker 6 - Was a bit more of a handful second half, scored one and might have had another if he reacted a bit quicker from a corner

Bolger 6 - Did okay when replacing Bostwick which wasn't tested as much
Akinde 5.5 - Had one really good chance early in the second half which he really should have hit on target but his presence did give Sunderland's defence more to think about

Vickers 5 The tippy tappy stuff at the back has cost us again
Eardley 6.5 Thought Eards did okay
Bostwick 6 troubles me to give anything to Bossie below a 7
Shackell 4.5 I'm sure he's got broad enough shoulders and will hold his hand up
Toffolo 7 a particularly fine solo run in second half
Anderson 6
Morrell 6.5 Morrell and Grant sprayed it around in second half
Grant 6 .5
Payne 5 didn't really notice Jack except when he gave the ball away at Appleton's feet
Hesketh 6 Inconspicuous
Walker 6.5 kept trying to get on the end of something!

Bolger 7 looked assured, unlucky to be dropped
Akinde 6 Not as much impact as previous games, needs to quicken up his control and shot

Some bad play in that first half bad spell. But a better 2nd half.
Hard to judge who was good or bad or a mixture of both.
