Vickers - 7.0 - Good save from free kick. Not too much to do. 1st goal could have been better positioned.

Eardley - 7.5 - Put in some good crosses and good tackles. Absolute standard performance from him.

Bostwick - 8.0 - Well done for the goal, but they could have at least tried to stop him.

Wharton - 8.5 - Did his best Gandalf impression and did it very well.

Toffolo - 8.0 - Always looks a pain with his runs from left back. A couple of poor crosses but in general very good forwards and back. Links well with Andrade.

Frecklington - 7.0 - Should have had a penalty. Shame he didn't get the 2nd half. Hope he's not out for long.

Pett - 9.5 - Simple. Ran the game.

McCartan - 10.0 - Surely no defender wants to play against him when he's like that.

Anderson - 8.5 - His runs always had them on the back foot and was regularly taking on 3 players at a time.

Andrade - 8.0 - Deliveries from corners got him how many assists today?

Rhead - 8.5 - So glad he didn't do his theatrics today. Dominated their defence all on his own, what chance did Vale have really?

Wilson - 6.5 - Some good parts but gave us a couple of problems with poor fouls to give away.

Green - 7.5 - Thought he looked really difficult and the last thing that Vale wanted to see when he came on. Could have caused all sorts of trouble if his child hadn't been born and he had started.

Chapman - 7.0 - Bright in a limited time. The boys up to League Two
standards already from the limited evidence here.

Danny & Nicky Cowley - 9.0 - The change in starting team with Shackell ruled out worked perfectly and we may be lucky they were forced into it. Other than Wilson in midfield where he didn't look comfortable I don't think they got a decision wrong all match.

Everybody today can have a 9 out of 10 from me.Thought we were excellent from start to finish,a fantastic watch live.

Probably churlish to say Vale were so badly organised defensively they were easy pickings, but credit to them, they kept at it and never gave up, otherwise we would have scored 10. Late change seamlessly accommodated.
Vickers - 7.5 - good save from 1 FK, need to see first goal again to see if could have done better. Clever distribution given windy conditions.
Eardley - 7.5 - average for him, ie great.
Bostwick - 8 - dominant in defence, benefitted from the set-piece carnage.
Wharton -8 - dominant in defence, also benefitted from the set-piece carnage.
Toffolo - 8 - holds his own defensively, rampant going forward amd better set peice delivery.
Frecklington - 7.5 - in and out game before great break which should have led to penalty. hope injury isn't serious.
Pett - 9 - classy, combative, creative.
McCartan - 9.5 - just shades Pett for MoM, improved fitness evident, beautifully taken goal, never let the defence rest, linked well with Rheady knowing he had to get in front of him to be effective.
Anderson - 8.5 - cleverly taken early goal, strong running, linked well, this is the Harry we love.
Andrade - 8 - good set pieces, clever runs. Non penalty suggests he's getting reputation for diving, so cut out the am-dram Bruno, you're better than that.
Rhead - 8 - some great lay-offs, worked well to bring others into the game without too much panto dame histrionics, best I've seen him this season.

Wilson - 6 - surprising deployment in midfield, tried manfully, but not his role. #some good tackles and passes but 2 careless free kicks for the PV goal and Vickers save.
Green - 7- lively cameo given his circumstances.
Chapman - 7 - growing in this squad, a good few minutes.

DC/NC - 10 - awesome, whether the Shack withdrawal and formation shift was a genuine need, a clever deception or a response to Vale's line up the adaptablity, resilience and strength of the squad was fully evident. Minerals.

Josh Vickers - 6,5 - smart save that could have made it 2-1. Did well on the second free kick
Neal Eardley - 6.5 - the pen harms his score
Bostwick - 7.5 - back to his solid self good following in
Wharton - 8.5 - comfortable on the ball and another goal that won me £16
Toffolo - 8 - 2 assists and an overall strong showing
Pett - 9 - they got nowhere near him dictating play from deeper
Frecklington - 7 - hope he’s okay
McCartan - 8.5 - fantastic goal and nice linkup
Anderson - 8.5 - another goal and did well at what he’s clearly instructed to do. cause mayhem and make room for Eardley to cross. One absolutely wicked delivery which could have easily been a second for Mr OG
Andrade - 8 - some things he does make me wonder how he was allowed to drop out of the league
Rhead - 8 - missed a chance but caused chaos and was a general thorn in their side. I was pleasantly surprised again

Wilson - 7 - well that was a curveball. Did well with just a couple of ‘centre back in midfield’ moments to be expected

Vickers - 6.5. Perhaps I'm being harsh but I thought he maybe could have done better with the free kick they scored from. Made a couple of good saves though.
Eardley - 7. Usually too good for any attackers on his flank.
Bostwick - 7.5. Solid as ever plus a bonus of a goal
Wharton - 7.5. Also solid plus ditto.
Toffolo - 7.5. No complaints about poor corners today!
Frecklington - 7. Seemed to be taking control of midfield along with Pett when he had to go off.
Pett - 8.5. Man of the match. Seemed to have a quiet start but after that wherever the ball was in midfield so was he.
McCartan - 8.0. Deserves the mark just for the goal but was a livewire especially in the first half.
Anderson - 8. Scored one and was involved in at least two of the other goals from corners - in fact probably the last one as well because Port Vale were so bamboozled by then it allowed a free header for Wharton.
Andrade - 7.5. Not the first time the opposition have found it difficult to cope with him.
Rhead - 6.5. Not everything came off for him.

Wilson - 6.5. Looked a square peg in a round hole at times in midfield but did a job.
Chapman - 7. Seems to be improving each time he plays.
Green - 6. - Could forgive him for not scoring from the chance he had as we were 6-1 up at the time, but then he produced a couple of disappointing lay-offs which robbed us of a possible 7th goal.

As per the match thread all 14 on the pitch today get 10 out of 10.

To get six away from home is magnificent and any slight blemishes by individuals is outweighed by the team performance and result

I am in my happy place

Vickers - 6.5
Eardley - 6.5
Bostwick - 7
Wharton - 7.5
Toffolo - 7
Frecklington - 6.5
Pett - 8
McCartan - 7.5
Anderson - 7.5
Andrade - 7
Rhead - 7

Wilson - 7

Vickers 7.5 - A couple of good saves, was alert when he needed to be, was outdone with a very good free kick and a penalty
Eardley 7.5 - A bit more like the Eardley from last season with the only real blemish being the penalty at the end
Bostwick 8 - Very solid at the back, nicely taken goal too
Wharton 8 - Same as Bostwick
Toffolo 8.5 - Solid defensively and been working on his corners too
Frecklington 7 - Did okay but was subbed at half-time after being clattered by their goalie when through on goal
Pett 9 - Played very well
McCartan 9 - Caused the Vale defence allsorts of problems
Anderson 8 - The best I have seen him play this season, nicely taken goal and was causing the Vale defence some issues
Andrade 7.5 - Wasn't sure of his fall in the area was a penalty or not but caused their defence problems and corners were improved
Rhead 8 - Very solid performance, nearly scored early in the game and his contribution set up a number of our chances

Wilson 6.5 - Not suited to midfield and gave away a couple of fouls in dangerous positions, nice goal from the corner though

Vickers 6 - Surprisingly poor positioning for the free kick. Left side of edge of box, left-footed taker with natural curl towards near post? Not sure why he moved towards his right post. Redeemed himself with a top class save for the second ; very brave.

Eardley 7 - Typical Eards performance, barring the penalty concession. Good crossing, unflustered and assured in defence.

Bostwick 8.5- Blood and thunder in defence. Distribution much better, distinct absence of the long high ball to Rheady..and scored. Best performance from him in ages

Wharton 8.5 - Shows how spoilt for choice at left CH we are when this lad is warming the bench. Cultured left foot, unruffled, purposeful and dangerous at corners.

Toffolo 7- Linked up well down the left touchline. Had a couple of good chances to score or assist. Not particularly troubled in defence.

Andrade 8 - Tormented the right back with his jinking runs. Better delivery from set-pieces. Had one shot well saved, but went down too easily in the box. Pity.

Frecklington 8- Was doing very well before he got crocked. Was it a penalty? I've seen the replay and it looks to me like the keeper stuck his leg out, so yes.

Pett - 9 Continues to dictate the play and break it up in defence. Some very slick passing. Our cultured engine room.

Anderson 8 - Harry much more confident than recently, nonchalant finish, some intelligent running and a nice flick to Bozzie.

McCartan 9.5 Easily his best performance in a Lincoln shirt. Direct, full of running, rattled Legge big time with his in-your-face style. Finish was sublime.

Rhead 8- If only he'd put away the header. Linked up play very well on the deck. Put a shift in at both ends.

Chapman 6.5 - Confident little cameo and maybe should have scored. Falling over in the act of shooting spoiled it.

Green 6 - Full of running as per, but wayward with his passing. Good hold-up play as per.

Wilson 6. 5 - Gave away the free kick for the goal, but redeemed himself with his goal at the other end. Played out of position though

The Cowleys 9 - Great last minute re-shuffle, but a bit baffled by Wilson in midfield instead of Bozzie.

Vickers - 7 Think there was little he could do for the goals. Even their FK goal was beautifully taken clearing the wall. Josh had little to do in the first half. Made some good saves in the second.
Eardley - 8 Very good on the right flank.
Bostwick - 8 Great in defence and got forward. Well taken goal.
Wharton - 7.5. Also good in defence
Toffolo - 7.5 Solid in defence and better corners
Frecklington - 7.5 Bossed the midfield until injured
Pett - 8.5 Owned midfield and my MOTM
McCartan - 8 Cracking goal and strong throughout the game
Anderson - 8 Cracking goal after 4 mins and ran the Vale defence ragged
Andrade - 7.5 As per Anderson he had the Vale defence tied in knots
Rhead - 7.5 Solid game and should have scored. Linked up well

Wilson - 7 Not suited to midfield but makes up for goal

Vickers 6. Great free kick and a pen apart he didn’t have a lot to do.
Eardley 6.5. Great relationship with Harry at both ends of the pitch
Bozzie. 8 immense, hardly lost a challenge all game
Wharton 7. Good and solid but he seems a bit skittish when we are used to Mr Cool Shackell. Booming diagonals to Rhead although effective on Saturday get a little predictable.
Toffolo 6.5. Safe and steady with a touch of class
Pett. 8. Kept us ticking over with simple passes but plays the killer pass too. Alex who?
Freck. 6.5. Controlled the midfield with Pett
Anderson 8.5 my MoM. Pace, power, a goal and an assist plus worked his nuts off .
Andrade. 6. Pretty average by his recent standards. Needs to stay on his feet more readily. Long way away but looked a soft fall for the penalty shout.
Rhead 7.5. Best game of the season. When he can bully a weak CH he is good. Legg is their best CH and he was marking McCarton leaving a soft whimp to mark Rhead and he was pure crap.
McCarton. 8. Love the way he plays. Top finish for his goal and his quick feet and movement caused problems for Vale. He is what we have missed since the GTF days,

Wilson. 6. A goal but a fish out of water in midfield.
DC obviously sees Bozzie as a CH first and only judging by the substitution and rightly so by keeping him at CH in place of Wilson confirms that.
