Here we go with a new season: an entirely new coaching team, a bouncing LNER, three Imps making their debut, a surprising return for Hakeeb, Lasse and Max, a game of two halves, a first goal as captain for Hops and... of course... six missing through injury. How did they all do?

6.0 is the par score, use half-marks, give us your comments too.

Deadline is 5pm on Tuesday.

...............................

Rushworth 7 Exposed for the goal but I was impressed with his control of the area and his distribution. Was always looking for a quick throw out.

Eyoma 6. Seemed nervous and a little tentative
O'Connor 6 Another who seemed nervous in the first half and played the ball back far more than he probably needed to. Not afraid to chuck himself in front of the ball though as shown by that second half block
Poole 7 Kept the defence together with his usual commitment. Couple of lovely cross field passes
Robson 5.5 Made a very poor pass in the first minute and that affected him I think. Much improved in the second half and nearly set up a late winner.

Sanders 6.5 Showed his worth to the team with a busy performance
Sorensen 7 The role in front of the back four is his best position. He reads the game well from there and although he is still a tad lightweight his athleticism allowed him to do well as shown with that terrific chase back and tackle in the second half. Gets my MOM vote
Oakley-Boothe 5. Very nervous. Early days. Time will be needed

Adelakun 6 Two terrific crosses one which led to a goal and one which should have done, but otherwise a little anonymous.
Hopper 6.5 Led the line well but might have lost some speed due to his injury of last year. Scored which gets that extra .5
Scully 5 Another who seemed nervous and needs a bit of a confidence boost through a goal or two. Should have buried those two golden chances

Bishop 6 Couldn't make a huge impact

Rushworth 7.. looked confident.. quick distribution
Eyoma 6.5.. goal apart had a good game
O'Connor 5.5 nervous
Poole 7.5 usual CB Poole
Robson 5.5 looks too slow, hope to be proved wrong
Sanders 7 better as the game went on
Sorensen 7 energetic
Oakley-Boothe 5.5 quiet
Adelakun 7.5 quality moments
Hopper 7.5 great goal
Scully 5.5 missed 2 great chances

Bishop 6

Very early days so I am hoping some of my negative comments which are based on one game only will prove entirely incorrect as the season progresses.
Rushworth 7 seems full of confidence and feel happy we have him. Took control of any high balls he had to. Loved his distribution and looking to move the ball on quickly. A couple of his passes went astray but his quick throw outs quickly turned defence into attack.
Eyoma 5.5 only player in the team who didn't seem fit. Struggled to get back in second half on a couple of occasions. Once still in oponents half when they were on edge of our box. Always looks like a rabbit in headlights when he gets near opponents box with the ball.
Poole 8 my MOM battles for everything and wins most challenges. Great attitude we be a massive loss if sold.
O'connor 5.5 early days but slow and ponderous does get stuck in but looks like a League 2 defender to me. But early days.
Robson 5.5 certainly not lived up to his hype and transfer fee looks unsure when passing. But did hit a couple of decent dead balls.
Sanders 6.5 busy performance grafted hard. Some decent corners.
Sorrensen 7 pick of the midfielders really tried to get stuck in in front of the defence
Oakley-Booth 5 no surprise when taken off . Very weak in the challenge and didn't hit any telling passes. Doesn't look like a Florini replacement to me but you never know.
Adelukan 7 had a good game and consistenly tried to get the ball into the danger area. Leading to goal and Scullys great chance.
Hopper 6.5 totally isolated first half but started winning more balls in the second half. A great finish for his goal.
Scully 5 has to take one of those chances he missed.
Bishop 6 did OK
Maguire 6 put plenty of effort in .

Rushworth: 7 Finally, a keeper who comes for the ball and catches it cleanly instead of flapping and punching. Distribution very good, especially throwing. Can see immediately why Brighton have such high hopes for him.
Eyoma: 6 Mixed game: came forward with the ball a few times like the TJ of old, but he appears to be unfit/injured - failed to get back into position several times and looked out of it at the final whistle.
O'Connor: 5.5 Was caught out three or four times in the first half by Exeter's long through-ball tactic; looks a bit slow, was turned easily by Nombe a few times, but was better in the second half. Will have to adjust to League One.
Poole: 8 MOM. The best player we have by a long way.
Robson: 6 Trying very hard, another mixed bag, grew into the game more in the second half as City began to dominate. Good ball to Scully late on.
Sanders: 6.5 Good when he contributed but in and out of the game a bit; good corners, perhaps he should take them from the other side as well. Did enough to keep his place.
Sorensen: 7 A revelation, improved as the game went on. Performance epitomised by that chase back.
Oakley-Boothe: 5 Was not really in the game, was clearly frustrated/disappointed when taken off. I note he played 16 Championship games for Stoke in 2020-21, so there is clearly a player in there. Needs a few games to acclimatise.
Adelakun: 7 His best game for Lincoln, was lively and played some good balls in - viz. Hopper's equaliser and the Scully miss. If he can get that final ball consistently right, he will be dangerous.
Hopper: 6.5 Did what Hopper does, but that kind of player needs a supporting cast - I think he needs a quick centre-forward to play alongside him. Kendall?
Scully: 5.5 Two or three misses that I reckon he would have buried last season. Was largely kept quiet by Exeter No.5 Alex Hartridge who I thought was the best player on the pitch bar Poole.

Bishop: 6.5 Helped us to increasingly dominate the game when he came on, will surely be first choice when (if) fully fit.

Rushworth - 7 - Didn't look one bit nervous. Confident display. Good distribution.

Eyoma - 7 - I liked what I've seen. Solid defensively. Confident on the ball. Not plenty going forward maybe but did really good job.

O'Connor - 6 - Old fashion defender. Brave and committed. Someone who you want to go to a battle with. Bit slow though which was exposed few times.

Poole - 7 - Typical Regan Poole display. Good.

Robson - 4 - First half he was lability. Not a good thing from him. Improved like the rest of the team after break but still worst player on the pitch. Skinned several times. Giving ball away. Never hanged his head down and stopped trying at least. Very poor.

Sanders - 6 - Anonymous first half. Lot better in second. Great energy and stamina.

Sorensen - 7 - Good performance for defensive midfielder. Tried very hard like he always does. Like most better after break.

Oakley-Boothe - 5 - Not bad on the ball at times but not much from him really.

Adelakun - 6 - Finally some end product with really good assist for Hopper's goal. Could have another if Scully was more clinical. Good game like for his standards but I will be disappointed if he is our starting winger in few weeks time.

Hopper - 7 - After all well taken goal after which got more energy and confidence. Better second half. Led the line ok, chased everything. Decent game.

Scully - 5 - Poor game. With him in better form we would have won.

Bishop - 4 - Looks like he needs to play as an emergency right back to be able to affect the games. Didn't bring anything after coming on.

Rushworth 7 Like the look of him so far. One save second half after a very poor defensive header from Oakley Booth was much harder than it looked.

Eyoma 6.5 Decent defensively but so short on pace compared to two seasons ago.
O'Connor 5 Fine attacking the ball in his own penalty area, but not comfortable in possession and lack of pace a worry
Poole 7.5 Held the defense together. We need him to stay.
Robson 5.5 Better second half when he got forward a little more. Very concerned about him defensively though.

Sanders 7.5 Some terrific lung busting runs forward second half. May well develope a good partnership with Sorensen
Sorensen 8 Best player by a distance. Incredible effort level plus flashes of skill too. Very puzzled why MA never tried a midfield of Sorensen, McGrandles and Sanders last season, with Sorensen in the Bridcutt role.
Oakley Booth 5 Needs to adjust to the pace and physicality of this division. Not a starter yet.

Andelakun 7 Clearly told to get crosses in early, which he did on many occasions. Would like to see him given more licence to take players on if he stays in the team.
Hopper 7.5 Captain led by example, and his goal was a superb header.
Scully 6 Missed two golden chances, but he will get goals for MK.

Bishop 5.5 Did OK, but no more. Mandroiu will replace Oakley Booth and/or Bishop when he's fit.

A good word for Maguire, who came on and did a job very professionally.

Good to see Scot posting again.

Rushworth 6.5 - Commanding, quick thinking, put Robson under pressure though.
Eyoma 6.0 - A little rusty but defended well, looked to get the ball forward.
O'Connor 5.5 - Ponderous in thought and action, will quickly need to get better.
Poole 7.5 - Mom, brilliant from 25th minute onwards, will be surprised if he has survived with the Imps when the window closes.
Robson 5.5 - Fortunate to come back for the second half but gained confidence as the game progressed.
Sanders 6.5 - Good on the ball, some testing corners.
Sorensen 7.5 - Really good, lost the ball and sprinted 50m to cover back, summed up his performance.
Oakley Booth 5.5 - A bit anonymous, will have learned a lot, hopefully how to tackle.
Andelakun 7 - The guy has skill, can cross a ball, just needed a bit more belief.
Hopper 6.5 - Well taken goal, not a lot went right as he was so isolated.
Scully 5.5 - Strikers have to score when presented with such chances, bet he couldn’t sleep.

Bishop 6. Did well when he came on, against a tiring Exeter side.

Rushworth. 7. First impression is he’s a proper GK. Strong off his line and distribution excellent,

TJ 5. Looked totally knackered with 20 to go, his recovery runs were a joke for a pro footballer.

O’Connor 5. All at sea first half, solid 2nd half but distribution sloppy. First impression is he isn’t better than Jacko.

Poole. 7.5 MoM. Held us together in the first 25 minutes when OConnor and Robson were AWOL. Our best defender by a mile.

Robson. 4. Toffolo, Edun both on frees. We were caught with our pants down paying good money unless he improves 200%. Rougham must be injured or rubbish on the training pitch. If you are a 5’5” fullback you have to have other excellent attributes as a fullback to make up for lack of physicality, I can’t see them. Lost so many challenges and so many bad passes in the first half I lost count.

Sorrenson. 7. Best game for the Imps, the biggest surprise of the game for the Imps. Best midfielder on show but the bar was low.

Sanders. 6. Averagely ok, covered a lot of ground. Needs an X factor to cement a permanent starting place.

Oakley Booth. 5. Fiorini without the X factor talent. Lightweight and ineffective.

Adelakun. 7. Typical flair player/winger performance. Frustrating one minute but flashes of great flair the next. Our most creative player.

Hopper. 6.5. Led the line without a lot of support and won his share of headers. Clever header for the goal.

Scully 5. Got to score at least one of the two great chances. He has to have a good season for us to keep out of trouble

Bishop. 6. No real impact. He has to get fit and stay fit and we have a top league one player

Like especially your line about Maguire, hated the booing that was just crap, the scene was set for him to make or score the winner and he very nearly did. Good luck to the bloke where ever he ends up.
