Well, that was a comfortable win if ever there was one. Even when we gave them the ball, Bradford were not good enough to do anything with it. Derek Adams referred to a gulf in class after the game, and it was obvious from the start that Lincoln would need to shoot themselves in the collective foot (thereby incurring even more injuries) to lose the game. Virtually through to the second round and £40,000 better off is not a bad night's work. Scully already has 7 for the season and he is still here as the window closes - what's not to like?

Long 7 Didn't have a lot to do, but did what was required very well. Looked comfortable in his area and good distribution

Poole 7.5 Excellent at both ends of the pitch. One block just after we had gone one up was superb
Montsma 7.5 Back to last seasons form. Very assured
Eyoma 7 Still getting his match fitness back and kept it simple
Bramall 8 Fine game from an attacking perspective. Great cross for the opener

Bridcutt 7 Influential throughout
Fiorini 7.5 Looks a class act when he gets on the ball. Some exceptional passes
Bishop 7 Always looking forward

Adelakun 8 Best performance in a City shirt and capped off with a terrific goal which will do his confidence a power of good
Hopper 7.5 Worked his socks off and showed what we miss when he can't play
Scully 7 A threat throughout and took his goal well

Sorensen 6.5 Game was done when he came on but made some nice passes

That’s better Imps. More like the Lincoln of last season. I know it’s Bradford from L2 but you can only beat what’s in front of you and we haven’t been that impressive so far this season, especially the first half against Oxford on Saturday. Bradford have had a reasonably good start as well this year. Great to see Hopper back as well. I reckon we’ll see a different Imps performance at Cambridge - more like last season 🤞🤞

Long - 7 - great first half save and excellent punch out under pressure, excellent coming off his line second half to intercept striker, good distribution, but lucky once or twice (bit slow on one clearance, but learnt from it second half with Row Z clearance) - has a calmness about him which is comforting. Oh, and a clean sheet 👏
Poole - 7 - a fair bit of involvement, both defensively and offensively, throughout the game, both effectively.
Montsma - 7 - calm in possession. Needs to be a little more accurate with diagonal balls sometimes. Occasionally a little guilty of ball watching when the ball comes into his area but generally calm, solid & constructive.
Eyoma - 7 - Just about back to his peak fitness after a couple of games but calm and authoritative.
Bramall - 7.5 - constant threat down the left with some long and pacey runs from LB, to cause Bradford problems. Lovely cross for Hopper’s goal, unlucky with his strike ruled out for offside.
Bridcutt - 7.5 - usual Bridcutt performance of quality and leadership (with the odd rash challenge for a yellow card 🤔)
Fiorini - 7.5 - really getting up to speed and starting to show his quality. Great control and some lovely passes.
Bishop - 8 - MoM - now becoming the quality box to box midfielder he is as his fitness improves. Deserved a goal with his one that hit the bar and his 30 yarder, but he will get a few this year.
Adelukan - 7 - warming to him. Still a bit careless with some passes (like Edun last season, maybe he tries too hard to anticipate where his team-mate will be instead of playing to feet, particularly when playing back to defence 🤔) but some lovely first touches and brilliant goal. Think he’ll be a real asset this season, especially when fully fit (looked out of it after 70 mins).
Hopper - 7 - great to see him back. Really notice what he brings to the team when he is absent. Bravely taken goal.
Scully - 7.5 - Mr Duracell, all over the pitch, constantly looking to cause defence problems with his unpredictable runs. Well taken goal.

Sorensen - 6 - helped see the game out with some good midfield play.

A good team performance, some of the interchanging movement and passing a joy to behold, outclassing a lower leage side and a first clean sheet of the season despite some defensive vulnerability in the first half.
Long 7.5 - one good save, decisive otherwise and good distribution. If Griff is good for England U21, how will Sam be in 12 months?
Poole 7 - good getting forward, sound in defence. When he scores he'll probably go on a scoring run.
Montsma 7 - comfortable on the ball, kept Cook quiet. Part of vulnerable looking defence in first half but dealt with the consequences of Adelakun's loose ball in the 2nd.
Eyoma 7- still getting to full fitness, but good on the ball and some good sharp tackles.
Bramall 8 - best game for the Imps, constant threat on the left, set up first goal and sound defensively. So quick I think he decieved the lino as well as Bradford's defence.
Bridcutt 7 - defensive screening not at its best first half, but helped control the game and rotated nicely with the other midfielders, leaving Bradford to chase shadows.
Fiorini 7.5 - starting to show his potential - passing, movement off and with the ball, some clever interceptions. Will surely continue to improve.
Bishop 7.5 - class - keep him fit etc. Nice run and shot to hit bar before 2nd.
Adelakun 6.5- first goal for the club was a great finish, some good movement and passing but still too careless with possession including a howler which was Bradford's best attack in the 2nd half. If he can sort that out, he'll become a real asset.
Hopper 8 - makes the team work, excellent movement, hold up play and strength for the first goal.
Scully 7.5 - continues to be officially 'on fire', gave Bradford's defence a 'mare with his speed of thought, control and movement. Simple finish for his goal a result of his well timed run to round off a great team move.

Sorensen 6 - at least we kept the 'nil' once he came on. some good work and passing but some loose passes too, still getting on method.

Long 8 - not overly worked unfortunately, but did what he had to do well. Looked confident, and his quick distribution was good (Griffiths please note).

Poole 7.5 - very decent game both defensively and going forward. Hopefully will give him confidence after a poor game on Saturday.
Montsma 8.5 - starting to look dominant again, which can only be good.
Eyoma 7- not yet back to last season's form. It will come with games
Bramall 8 - I agree with others - his best game for us. Wasn't tested at all defensively though.

Bridcutt 7 - usual Bridcutt game. Not really up against a great deal however in the Bradford midfield.
Fiorini 7.5 - fitted in really well, and there was a nice balance in midfield. I'm a little unsure if there is enough defensive ability with a three of Bridcutt, Fiorini, and Bishop, but they combine really well offensively.
Bishop 7.5 - our main creator. We just need to find the right two to play alongside him in midfield.

Adelakun 7- his goal was pure skill and shows what he can do. However some of his misplaced passes would have cost us dearly against better opposition.
Hopper 8.5 - a game that shows just how much he is missed when injured. We just have nobody who can play that role at anywhere near the standard required.
Scully 8.5 - so much now depends on Scully this season with not adding a striker. Definitely going to get a long run in the side, which he has never really had before.

Sorensen 6.5 - its going to be perm 3 from 5 in midfield (6 if Sanders ever gets fully fit). Sorensen has a role to play, but probably off the bench.

Lincoln barely got out of second gear against poor opposition. Bradford were better than last year but marginal.

Long: 6.5 Didn't have a great deal to do again, but he did it competently enough. I would like to see how he gets on against better opposition - a L1 game, perhaps.
Poole: 7 Had a good game, was able to press higher due to the poor opposition and he made good use of the space. But when is he going to get that elusive first goal? He must have more near-misses to his name than anyone.
Montsma: 7 Looked fitter and more precise with his passing. His best game of the season so far.
Eyoma: 6.5 Still not fully match-fit but he and Montsma were far too good for our old foe Andy Elbows-Cook.
Bramall: 8 Terrific going forward, was simply too fast for Bradford, and a great cross for Hopper. Must surely be used as a winger from now on, could be a potent force down the left with Robson behind him. We may have found our extra wide man.
Bridcutt: 7 Too much class for a League Two side, a training game for him.
Fiorini: 7.5 Really like him, would put him ahead of McGrandles and Sorensen as things stand. Very good coming through from midfield with the ball, carries it well and can play some great passes - such as the third goal.
Bishop: 7.5 The way he runs at defences makes him an upgrade on the more static Grant, but it also weakens us slightly defensively if he loses the ball.
Adelakun: 7 Much better, showed what he is capable of with an outstanding individual goal.
Hopper: 7 Good finish and showed Fists-Cook how a line should be led.
Scully: 8 Full of running, constantly dangerous, always looks likely to score. Developing into a top L1 striker, hanging on to him in January will be impossible if he carries on like this.

Sorensen: 6 Plugged the gap left by Bishop's departure with no alarms.

And we can establish who the first VLC Player of the Month for this season is later today - who do we think it will be?
