Rap music thread

Someone wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? Think we've touched a nerve. 😂

I like this rap

Johnny's in the basement
Mixing up the medicine
I'm on the pavement
Thinking about the government
The man in the trench coat
Badge out, laid off
Says he's got a bad cough
Wants to get it paid off
Look out kid
It's somethin' you did
God knows when
But you're doing it again
You better duck down the alley way
Lookin' for a new friend
A man in the coonskin cap, in the pig pen
Wants eleven dollar bills, you only got ten
etc

I have to admit that I do like this, and of the two versions, I do actually prefer the one with Snoop Dogg's contribution. Don't know whether it is a proper rap, though:

So was that the first rap song? I'd always been led to believe this one was:

No, Rappers Delight was a year before that.

I think Fatback Band - King Tim III is generally accepted as the first released rap record, in 1979.

Blondie are legit - Chris Stein is "Steinski" and was behind the Wild Style soundtrack

Ah, ok, thanks, 3x6.

I find the Stone Roses and Suede are excellent listening for the gym. When on the treadmill it almost makes me forget I'm on the verge of a heart attack.
Classic dance or even better, trance for me, great workout music. Tiesto’s Urban Train, Veracocha’s Carte Blanche, Solid Sleep’s Club Attack, Agnelli & Nelson, Paul Van Dyk, Delerium Silence
