I know, I know not City related but just posting it here for starters as it is such a shock!

Leicester City sack Premier League-winning manager

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39070927

The players have let him down massively imo

That is one way of looking at it!

"Earlier this month, Leicester gave their "unwavering support" to the Italian." - always signals a warning bell when that happens!

A shame but it has been on the cards for a few weeks. He said Leicester would be his last club but not exactly the best way to retire. Football is a ruthless business as we all know.

If ever proof was needed that football is a results business this is it. A disgrace for the weak owner of Leicester.

He signed a new four-year deal in August 2016.

We play them in our penultimate game of the season. I hope their fate is decided before that game kicks off.

Nice bank cheque will see him through his tears.
Shows what happens when the dressing room is in upheaval.
Better away from the club before it is relegated, if indeed it is.

BTW. Just facing facts above. :011:
The board at Leicester should hang their heads doing this to a man who took them only last year, to heights they would not have dared dream about.
Sorry for their supporters but I hope the whole kit and caboodle go down. :009:

I feel very sorry for the guy especially after hearing comments about 'dressing room unrest' over 'changes in training routines, player's diet's and [here's the kicker] team selection'. They are mostly the same players tht won the league and they ought to take a long, hard look at themselves in the mirror - I just don't think they have been trying as hard and have taken their foot off the gas.

The owner and board should get a lot of heat over this though. The dreaded 'vote of confidence' :013: You have to stand behind someone before you can stab them in the back.

They'll probably beat the drop now. New manager bounce and all that malarkey, hopefully the new guy is in before Monday.

That's the last 5 PL winning managers no longer at the club they won the title with. 3 of that 5 sacked in the year following winning the title.

Jose got himself another headline, class indeed. :027:

Did he have any message for Claudio when he took his job at Chelsea can anyone recall?

"Jamie Vardy says speculation over manager's sacking 'untrue'"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39093177

They interview Kasper S. yesterday, he denied it, but the eyes gave it away he lied, they will stick together but they know it will haunt them next season when they are in the Championship for those who cannot get another transfer to a Premier Club.

It's always the eyes. I haven't watched that yet - must do so.

On the morning after Ranieri's departure there were references in a radio news article to sources at the club referring to players being unhappy with "changes to training routines, player diets and team selection". That smacks very much of disgruntled players thinking they deserve a place on the team sheet and not wanting to do what their coach asks. Smacks sof the days after the FA Cup defeat to Wigan and the 'text messages' before Mancini's departure.

Me think they do protesteth too much.

Just watched it. Spot on Buzz. Absolutely classic signals - looking down and away at key moments. The only time he looks directly at the interviewer is when he refers to the players underperforming on the pitch, the only time he feels comfortable at telling the truth. He stops short of actually actually saying the players take responsibility for his departure.

The answers to the other questions he either fails to answer directly or 'pivots' to something else. He could be a politician. You can usually tell when they are lying - their lips are moving.

{Very good questions by the BBC journo btw}
