Because he has an extension for a year but he hasn't signed it yet, which has alerted all the clubs, including Derby. He also said he was keen to stay at Bristol, but he is leaving it late to sign on the dotted line. Maybe a ploy from his agent to get him a better financial deal with Bristol. If Reid is out of contract next week, why sign him afor a fee at all? Wait a week and make a deal with him as a free agent!

Very good player I've seen him 8times and he definitely ain't a midfielde He plays behind the striker very clever and skilful a real handful for a small guy and certainly know where the goal is Afraid money will talk with this one he's obviously after a pay rise and backing Bristol into a corner

Hmm, but he has stated he wants to stop at Bristol City, so I assume he will be signing, if his agent doesn't negotiate a move before the 30th July, so there is little or no chance of picking him up on a free. You don't pick up £8m+ attacking midfielders for nowt. Not my area of expertise, but if he hasn’t signed this extension yet then surely he is effectively, or about to be, out of contract and RR’s point is a valid one.
Sounds like he may be playing games in my inexpert opinion.
He is an attacking midfielder, that is why he plays behind the striker
that depends what formation you play so Vydra was never a number10 He was an attacking midfielder

You can never really tell if it is the players speaking or his agent, I suspect the later and you know how they play on the tension and desire of clubs to get the best players in at a good price for the club and their bonus.30th June not July...that’s next Saturday which is why I’m puzzled that he still hasn’t signed and why I’d question how much he wants to stay.
You can guarantee there will be some action in the later stages of this week, or I am very much mistaking the greed and potential earner for the agent and playerFree agent from Sunday then.....
If Bournemouth & West Brom are interested in him, then what chance do you have especially if you are in a situation that you have to sell before you can buy.

Absolutely...and tbh I’m not even sure that I’d want him. Take mista’s word that he’s a decent player...I’ve only seen him once...but is his reputation just built on last season? Not sure I’d heard much of him prior to Brizzle’s dalliance towards the top which ended even more spectacularly than our own after last January.
Not into chasing one season wonders if that is the case...besides Basie says we’re just little old Derby so we’ve got no chance and he’s always right.![]()
He is, I saw him at least twice last season and I thought he was on loan from some Premiership outfit. Very surprised to see he is a Bristol City player.RA Basie said last week he had never been to P/Park u think he should update it and say he's never been to a football match He never seems to much does he As for Bobby Reid he is a very good player certainly in the top five I've seen in the Championship for the last three seasons If Vydra has to go i would like him He may seem a one season wonder but that's because he always played central midfield till last season If Eddie Howe wants him he must be good
I’m slightly confused anyway. Isn’t Stephen Lansdown, the City owner, infinitely wealthier than Mel?
I believe he’s just sold about £130,000,000 worth of shares in one company or another and pledged to put Bristol on the ‘footballing map’.
Bristol City may not have the history of DCFC but it is a much bigger city (10th biggest in the UK?) albeit one with two football teams and a significant rugby culture.
In such circumstances why would he be considering selling two of his best players - Reid and Flint - to likely rivals...us and WBA?
Reid is out of contract but does have an option he may choose to sign. He has said he would like to stay where he is but Commons said that and then refused to sign......
