Rags shifting into crisis while City starting to fly high again?

Alert Team
I for one am absolutely relishing Rooneygate condemning the Stretfords pre season tour to a sideshow. Jettisoning the scouser back to England only seems to have intensified the growing media hysteria. It's all coming out now. I'm also beginning to wonder if the long put off step down/up of Taggart has exposed Gollum Moyes as having less pulling power. One eye on Fabregas after Thiago failure.

Meanwhile, City's picture looks rosier by the minute I reckon. Right across the board we look to be brighter and in the process of heeding hard lessons learned.

Anyone else feeling pretty chipper?

:139:

According to reports Rooney is said to be 'angry and confused'.

Apparently someone handed him a piece of paper with PTO written on both sides.

Lmao. Sky just announced that Chelsea have had a bid rejected. Apparantly Mata or Luiz plus cash??

Thinking of my Home Counties born and bred brother in law today and all his Roooooneying.

I can hear it now. "He wasn't as good as you might think."

So the rags have turned down £10million plus a choice of Mata or Luiz..............anyone else smell Utd Plc PR stunt or bullcrap to the rest of us.
There is no way everrrrrrrrr that the rags would turn down such a fantastic offer, what swapping a big name in England but defo not world class for cash plus a choice of 2 world class players hahahahaha what a load of tosh.
Shrek wants out has wanted out for a few years the Moyesiah wants to keep him to ruin him like he has with every forward, Bacon Face wants to keep him so he has the last bitter old man laugh cos shrek was the only player to hold him and the rags to ransom for a mega pay deal.
I hope he stays at the swamp and they end up mid table, you reap what you sow fat man and gollum is gonna ruin you.

Likewise with my rag brothers. It will be like hearing the same broken record all over again. Happens EVERY time one of their so-called megastars leaves. They fawn over them and make out that they can walk on water but as soon as they drop over the crest of the hill and indicate they want to leave, are less than happy etc the same old stuff does the rounds. Eventually they disregard, ignore or dismiss all and everything that a player may have achieved for their club and slate them as being 'not good enough' or 'I never really rated him'. Their innate ability to switch tracks is unparalleled - they can seamlessly move into some parallel universe where all their previous hero worship never happened.

Masters of DoubleThink. The same twisted logic that leads them to believe that a player only ever joins their club because of their love for U*d whilts they only ever join a rival for the 'obscene wages' (conveniently ignoring the obscene sums paid to their top players).

Lovin' every minute of the saga. Hope it goes on for ALL of the Transfer window. :yup:

Oh, found this quite amusing in the comments to the BBC Sport article on the 'Chelsea bid' myth.....

"Has anybody thought about the shirt situation?
How easy is it to re-negotiate a new shirt deal?
Currently, Chelsea wear quite tight figure-hugging shirts. There is no way Mr Rooney could be expected to fit into one of these. And the paying public should not have to put up with watching any attempts to"

:pmsl: :pmsl:

This keeps getting better:

A statement from Chelsea read: ‘Chelsea FC can confirm that yesterday it made a written offer to Manchester United for the transfer of Wayne Rooney.'
But in another twist, Chelsea appeared to suggest that Sportsmail's story came from United's training camp in Sydney.
The statement continued: 'Although the terms of the offer are confidential, for the avoidance of doubt and to the contrary to what appears to be being briefed to the press in Sydney, the purchase price does not include the transfer or loan of any players from Chelsea to Manchester United.’

So, the rags might lose out on a big name player who wants to leave. They won't get Fabregas, he'll stay in Spain. They missed out on Thiago. They won't sign Bale, or Felliani, or Modric, or anyone else they want, because players know that Moyes can't provide the same amount of influence over the officials that fergie did. You'll see the rags have more goals called back for offsides this year, I can promise you that.

Love the understated nature of the S+Chelsea statement.

The idea that Chelsea would include one of the best midfielders in the PL lasts season for Rugney - just what planet were the rag media spinners on?

I wouldn't mind Skoorb but I'd want money plus Shrek for Mata, not the other way around.

Delighted Chelsea have pulled them up on their dirty tricks.

The losers in all this will be Chelsea.

The scum are not fools and want rid of Shrek because age has finally caught up with him - even at 28.

(Think of all the English super kids in recent years...Owen, Fowler...all of them lost that edge at 28 because they've been flogged to death.)

Shrek can no longer be the ''difference'' to a team. He's not good enough.

The problem is that what may weaken Chelsea, will make the scum stronger if they can reinvest the cash in someone much better than Shrek.

Will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

I think it depends on the sum, Spooks. If Chelsea can get shrek for less than £15m then they got a deal. He's still quite marketable, still plays for England, can still do a number against the likes of Stoke and Cardiff, and although expensive still gets away with a lot of dirty play.

£15m? Hasn't he still got two years left on his contract? It's not like T#vez where he can walk for free at the end of next season. I think they'd expect and would get nearer £25m

I agree with your assessment. I was suggesting that IF Chelsea were to get him for £15m that it would be good business. If it is higher than that I think they got screwed.

I'm with Spooks on that one.

I've been having private, imaginary discussions with Shrek as his imaginary agent, telling him to not rise to the bate. Baconface resents him and couldn't stop himself having a dig just before he left. Moyes has been left with a poisened chalice and good luck to him. Couldn't really happen to a nicer guy when you think about it.

My mate Wayne, you should see out your contract and then walk on a free. You will get so much of a better contract at the end of it. If you also wants to order a few Dominos everynight when sitting out a game because the girl persie isn't injured then that's fine as well.

Do your time, Wayne, see out your contract and enjoy the high-life for a couple of years. Start paying a few visits to a few 'old' acquaintances like you used to. You know it makes sense my mate !!!

Latest I've heard is that Shrek to Chelsea is close following the news that Colleen has agreed personal terms with JT.

They just keep on comin'. Paddy Power getting in on the act too
