They've spent quite a bit of money to now be sitting in 5th place. Do the pundits talk about how much their lineup costs every time they lose?
 
No they do not.

I always recall how they used to bang on about the 'cost of the players on City's bench'. I notice they never seem to mention the £40+m that Mata cost and how often he warms their subs bench.
 
I've also noticed that the attendance figures for the swamp aren't listed for games any more. Every other club has their figures on the matchday reports, but not the rags. Interesting, isn't it?
 
I think that is because they count (as do all clubs) the number of season ticket holders as a given (whether they attend or not as they technically have paid for a ticket) then they bung on top the actual number of non season ticket holders sold for any particular game. ie if only 30,000 season ticket holders go to the game, they still record that figure as say 50K being the number of STs sold that season.
