I’m not sure that the clue to question 2 is correct. The player did not play one season under DC as far as I remember. I still only got 4 right.

That isn't what it says... that is actually a vital clue.

In 1951, we bought our first TV set (second hand) from the chap who is the answer to No.5. It had a 9" screen and a magnifying lens that made it look 12". I think my dad paid a fiver for it. I remember we had loads of neighbours round to see the king's funeral in Feb '52.
