QPR v Swansea Tue 21 April 19:45

The first of two away games in the next week and the penultimate away match of the season.

QPR lost 2-0 at high flying Millwall yesterday and are 11th in the table, a point above us on 58 points.

Their head-coach is Julien Stephan, previously manager at French Ligue 1 Strasbourg and Ligue 1 Rennes. Appointed last summer he has a 35% win ratio with 16 wins from 45 games

Despite their first defeat in 6 games, QPR are in better form than Swansea.

Last October with one win in seven games and without a home win in five games we lost 0-1 at home to QPR with Sheehan in charge. Yalcouye was sent off on 34 minutes after he was downed in the penalty area.

Big centre-back Steve Cook then confronted Yalcouye resulting in a touch of heads. With Cook at 6’1” and Yalcouye at 5’7” Cook had to lower his head to reach Yalcouye’s, but Cook got away with just a booking. QPR were already leading 0-1 after a Burrell strike on 18 minutes.

A last few minutes in panic mode again after dominating the match throughout.
Conceding late is a trend with the Swans and took a bit of a shine off the result.
However it was otherwise a really good display by the Swans with 11 shots on target and a second successive away win.
The table looks pretty good tonight too.
 
A great performance from us tonight, much better on the ball in that second half, you can see the potential when we get it right. Last two games give me more confidence that Matos will get us controlling games more next season. Up to 10th and a chance to beat last seasons tally, can’t fault it.
 
One of our best away performances of the season. QPR in the top half and we don't have much joy on the road against teams in higher positions so even more pleasing.

Also pleasing to see such a good all round performance with the likes of Fulton and Ronald doing well and we also rested Stamenic and Vipotnik.

Franco was immense.

My only gripe was how often we let them off the hook for having such an awful, open shape. We cut through them constantly, especially at the start of the second half but had no real attacking intent.

But otherwise excellent. Good to see us playing to this level in midweek away from home despite not having anything to play for.
 
Yeah the best by far. QPR were dreadful but you can only play what's in front of you. QPR are a bit like that, very up and down team and we caught them on a bad night but then again we did well to put a A game on despite not playing for anything.

Promising signs from Walta too, he really needed a good performance
