Our away form has been terrible, as shown above, 6 straight defeats.
Although playing well in most of those games and dominating possession, we’ve failed to make it count with goals and at the same time conceding mostly from set pieces.

John Eustace, the assistant manager, is now in temporary charge at QPR.
He took over following the sacking of Steve McClaren on 1 April.
Rangers have won only once in the Championship since Boxing Day.
Eustace got his first point in charge when QPR played out a goalless draw at Millwall on Wed night.
QPR created the better chances and had 15 shots on goal, with 3 on target, a good strike ratio for an away side.
Angel Rangel was one of five players dropped by Eustace for this match after the 4-0 drubbing at Norwich last Saturday.

Well you pretty much summed it up there Kevin. We were over confident coming in to this match and thought we would stroll to a win against a side who’d only won one match since Boxing Day last year and were hammered 4-0 last week at Norwich.
They high pressed us from the off and we submitted without a whimper and had no answer as their aggressive play produced goals on 3, 5, and 17 mins.
We were in the upper tier of the very aptly named Schoolboy Stand, as it was like watching schoolboys against men as QPR ripped us apart.
Not one of our players came out of this with any credit. With a weak goalkeeper rooted to his line and unable/unwilling to command his area QPR made us look like relegation fodder. Gone was the confident display of the last three matches, this was embarrassingly bad and so one sided it could easily have been 8-0.
Yes it really was that bad.

Potter on set pieces after the QPR debacle:
"You can talk about everything you want in between the boxes but we won't be able to achieve what we want to achieve if we don't get better in those situations.
So, again, it wasn't good enough.
We have to try and find a way to be better at that because clearly, it's an area that will hold us back if we don't improve."

Grimes after-match comments:
“They started on the front foot, they pressed us well and I thought we were a little bit naive to be honest.
We were off the back of three fantastic performances and three home wins and I think we thought we could come here and it would go our way.
But obviously they are in a position where they are scrapping for every point and you could tell that.
Then when you are 3-0 down after barely 15 minutes you have a mountain to climb.
We are not happy with how we played, no-one can be. We have to try and pick ourselves up from that and try and get back on track against Rotherham.
They were so aggressive and we seemed caught off-guard and it’s really disappointing. They got after us, they did it well and thoroughly deserved the win.
We’ve had a good couple of weeks overall, but we have to learn from this quickly.”

talking of their high press, here's some analysis on that: https://swansea.vitalfootball.co.uk...ward-passing-in-4-0-thrashing-at-loftus-road/

Your pass radar illustration shows how effective QPR tactics were. The two screenshots each show 5 QPR players high pressing us and we were unable to clear the ball. This has happened many times this season and we still have no answer to this high press, same as the set piece weakness.

Is it the coaching or the players?

QPR had forgotten how to win and were managerless, yet they beat us with ease. They lost at home again the following week.

That was a shocker. Just when you think we've learnt lessons of the past we lose 4-0 to a shocking side just through basic pressing tactics. Looked like we went backwards to our early performances. Results like this are why we are not currently in top 6 and don't deserve to be.
