The passing of popular children's novelist and Christian Appologist, C.S.Lewis, went largely unnoticed and unreported in the world media despite him being a figure of somewhat international renown and no great age. This was due to him passing on the same day that JFK was assassinated.

 
In the 1960s the CIA surgically implanted listening equpment into cats in an attempt to infiltrate the Kremlin, the operation was called Acoustic Kitty.

 
Initially O J Simpson was cast to play The Terminator, only for him to be replaced by Arnie as the studio did not think he would be accepted as a remorseless killer.

If JFK hadn't vetoed it, the CIA would have done fake terrorist attacks including hijackings and bombings on it's own American citizens, followed by planting phony evidence to blame it on Cuba, to enable them to ''retaliate'' and invade the newly communist country.

Makes you think hey? I wonder if George Bush would have vetoed such a plan :69:
 
The space ship in Alien was named The Nostromo after the Joseph Conrad novel of the same name, subsequently in the sequel James Cameron named his space ship The Sulaco, a town in the book by Conrad.

The escape shuttle in Alien is named Narcissus, an allusion to another of Conrad's works - The ****** of The Narcissus.
