Tony Pulis ordered to pay Crystal Palace £3.7m in damages

Tony Pulis - West Brom
West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has been branded as a fraudster and ordered to pay former club Crystal Palace damages of £3.7 million.

Pulis left the south London club on the eve of the 2014/15 season just a couple of days after accepting a £2 million payment as a bonus, despite leading Palace chiefs to believe that he was committed.

The former head coach was ordered by the Premier League Managers’ Arbitration Tribunal earlier this year to pay damages of £3.7m to Crystal Palace and Pulis then took the case to the High Court.

As reported by the BBC, Pulis has since lost in court and ordered to pay Palace the money they are owed.

The details of the case have also emerged as it was revealed that Pulis was to be given a bonus if he kept Palace away from relegation in the 2013/14 season and was still manager by August 31 2014.

Pulis then asked for the money early, was given it on August 12 and left his position as manager on August 14. He said he needed the money earlier because he was purchasing some land, but the tribunal rejected his evidence and deduced that his decision to leave came two days earlier at a players’ meeting.

It will be interesting how silent his mouth goes now.... How far does greed go ? Not clever as BFS or Ole 'Arry aye?

Serves him right, I've read somewhere ( The Secret Footballer ? ) that there are managers out there who are relegation avoiding specialists, who can't wait to ditch their current club because there is a massive ' keep us up ' bonus on the table from another club.
