Mauricio Pochettino is in “regular contact” with Tottenham skipper Hugo Lloris as Paris Saint-Germain line up a blockbuster summer swoop, Football Insider understands.
The long-standing Spurs number one will be a crossroads in his career this summer, when he enters the final year of his contract.

Pochettino is keen to be reunited with Lloris, 34, and hand him a starring role at French giants PSG back in his homeland.

A Spurs source has told Football Insider that the pair are in “regular contact” and the former White Hart Lane manager would love to sign the keeper in the next window.
This site revealed last month how Pochettino and Lloris “lunched with one another every day” while together at Spurs and had a relationship far closer than that of a player and a manager.

The France World Cup winner does not have the same rapport on a personal level with Jose Mourinho.

But they respect one another and the keeper remains the undisputed number one at Tottenham.
That is a status he has held for nearly a decade, since signing from Lyon in 2012.
Pochettino also came close to signing another Tottenham star in January but a sustained loan pursuit of Dele Alli was knocked back.

Lloris, who turns 35 in December, has been the subject of growing criticism from supporters in recent seasons and made some key errors in Wednesday’s FA Cup defeat to Everton.

His future is up in the air and while the club have opened initial talks over a blockbuster new deal, nothing has been agreed.

Lloris has kept 120 clean sheets in 353 appearances for Spurs, starting all 22 of their Premier League fixtures this season.

Well being in regular contact will be no great surprise, plus we know Lloris wants to return to France, so none of this is a great surprise, he'd make a decent back up anywhere he moves to and in goalkeeping terms could well have another 3-4 seasons in him as long as he's no expected to be the no.1

Does start you wondering whether there is a deal to be had with Alphonse Areola, on loan from PSG and looking the business at Fulham. 2 years left on his PSG contract.

Glenn Hoddle has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur should sign Sam Johnstone from West Bromwich Albion to replace Hugo Lloris.
Speaking on the Glenn Hoddle Footy Show, the former Spurs midfielder opened up about his belief that Jose Mourinho needed to find a replacement for Lloris.
The French goalkeeper has been in awful form over the past week, and has conceded eight goals in his last two outings.

And Hoddle feels that if Tottenham do dip into the market then Johnstone should be right at the top of their wishlist.
Hoddle said: “For me Sam Johnstone is a top goalkeeper, who will get better and better. Whether West Brom go down or stay up, I think he’s someone who will stay in the Premier League and someone will grab him.”
Johnstone has really impressed for West Brom this term, and he was once again in excellent form at the weekend.

Johnstone produced a wonderful last minute stop to deny Harry Maguire from scoring for Manchester United and protect a point for his side.
Tottenham have actually been linked with Johnstone earlier this season, with The Sun saying in January that he was on their wishlist.
If Tottenham are to replace Lloris in their current squad then they will have to turn to Joe Hart, which could be a risk, given the England international’s shaky form over a number of years.

Well, if and when he does go to PSG, a massive thanks and gratitude for being a loyal Cockerel.

You can now go to France with your head held high and become a Chicken lol!
