Well, after that shambles against the Foxes, surely we need to priortise things.

1. We are simply never going to win the Champions lg...fact.(This season)
2. The domestic league? Only if others slip up.

So... Lg Cup becomes a MUST win, plus...the FA cup should also be a priority.
Do not field a weakened team against Chelski.

Let's look at the writing on the wall and go for the tangible assets.

I've been able to watch Leicester for the last 6 games (re-runs etc) and seen that they run for 90 minutes non stop( as opposed to other teams who fade after putting in a challenge for half a game).
Why oh why doesn't our manager know this...or, indeed command his players to at least match their effort?

Also, so many (No...ALL of the teams I watch) can simply keep some sort of structure to their defence, when City look an absolute shambles and all over the place.

Todays game, I feared Leicester "parking the bus" because every time they broke forward they looked like they could score.

So, as I say. Lg cup and FA cup please.
The others seem light years away.

PS. When the new manager comes in...A complete new back 4 PLEASE.

PPS. Who ever thought that Demichellis and Kolorov were the answer on that left side....Well.....(Homework on Leicester?)

I agree that we're not likely to win CL, on today's showing not a snowball's chance in hell BUT we are still competing for precious coefficient points so I can see the logic in prioritising the Kiev game over Chelsea in the cup.
 
The new manager may have some other methods of defending, I hate the fact that we heap piles onto Sergio and hope he scores enough to get us out of the mire.

The simple fact is that we lost another player midweek, who we all know has been adding that something, but he is not alone in key players we have lost during this odd campaign.

But I want a trophy and the CL is only a dream not a reality just yet.
 
We lost a game, we lost to the league leaders, if you look at the beat the click, the optimists put a win the ones the really weren't sure put draws, but we all know that we are not playing well because we are playing with players who are knackered, as you say JB 38 games, but we have loads of injuries and off form players, but every thing will be ok on the night, we have to believe and get behind the lads that turn out on the night.

I said on the specubollox thread that not signing anyone in the window was a big mistake. Our defence has been terrible for a good while and we desperately needed to strengthen it. We didn't. We're paying for this shortsightedness now.


 
Yet if we'd have signed a centre half then they would need time to settle and January is not the time to be trying to settle.

It would also have meant dropping Demichelis, most likely, from the squad ( unless we signed English ), this causes its own problems in terms of squad harmony.

It could also be argued that signing a centre back in January to plug a gap whilst we wait for injured players to return is shortsighted.

I'm not saying you're right or wrong Rising, just that these things are never as black and white as they may seem.

What do you mean by what then?
 
Well JK what Then is that Pep has signed a contract and will have a relatively unlively season with the same amount of games that Leicester has played this season, time enough to bed in new players and they will all have been able to rest following the Euros, so not getting in the top 4 could be a blessing, but we are not that bad and only 6 points behind the leaders, with lots of points to go, we have been in worse positions than this and still won it.
 
If we need to prioritise many factors will play a part and I am sure Pellegrini knows what those priorties are. My guess is;


Top 4 is a must, not the title. Be a big set back if we dont qualify for CL with Pep coming on board. The financial aspect between 1 and 4 in PL is not signicant so that wont bother the bosses. Be good from a Brand and Power statement to win it but by all accounts we are there with that already.

CL brings in big money the further you move on, coefficient points and CL is where you get really judged as a football power and we have a real chance to get through to next round. I think this is still our Number 1 focus and that will be seen with the side we field for the FAC prior to first leg.

LC - A final and City will prioritise this as a must win.

FAC - To me of little value given all the factors of injuries, the scheduling cr@p, our state of fatigue and sits well below all of the above. To be honest I hope City take the opportunity to play some youth in this game.

In regard the FA Cup game, if we're really intent on sending a message by fielding a weakened team then we should do it properly and send Davies and the EDS to Stamford Bridge.

So, Leicester has had no midweek games to play, an additional FA Cup Replay against Spurs, and a single League Cup game back in the fall. They have 13 games remaining this season, we potentially have 27. To say that every team we face is going to be as well prepared as they were is unrealistic.

I think Leicester was ready to go, we were not. Maybe it's the 12:45 kickoff, who knows. I doubt we fall out of the top 4, and I think the current top 4 stays that way (but not in that order) at the end of the season. Let's see how Leicester deal with the CL...
 
We win this weekend, Foxes lose and it's game on with four trophies once more in our sights.

Having said that, our defence is fairly shit...
