The Premier League have today confirmed that they are rebranding from the 2016-17 season.
With phrases like 'new visual identity' and 'bold and vibrant', it's another modern day move that was really unnecessary and largely pointless - but what do I know.
The Lion doesn't quite disappear, it's more decapitated and no longer has a body in the redesign, and maybe it's the traditionalist in me but I preferred the old one.
The emblem replaces the existing one which has been with us since 1992 and the title sponsor is not being replaced either, with the division now known simply as the 'Premier League'.
