Premier League Team of the Season

muttley

Alert Team
Is it announced yet? Did Spurs have any players in it?

Would be interesting to see everyone's line-ups.

I think mine would be

Allison
Dias, VVD, Rudiger
Trent, De Bruyne, Thiago, Robertson
Salah, Mane, Son

Obviously, they have to be in Conte's system as he is the manager even if Klopp gets the treble !!!

I might be being harsh on Edersen, Walker, Rodri, Silva, Hendo, Ronaldo etc

Think I would go:
Allison GK
Trent Alexander Arnold RB
Joao Cancelo LB
Ruben Dias CB
Antonio Rudiger CB
Declan Rice CM
Bernado Solva CM
Kevin De Bruyne CM
Mo Salah FW
Harry Kane FW
Heung Min Son FW

Honorable mentions to
Tyrick Mitchell
Reece James
Cristiano Ronaldo (without his goals Utd would have been fighting relegation)

Here's a stab at a team drawn from outside the top 3.

It's based purely on what I've seen rather than what I've read so it comes with limitations.

A minimum of 22 appearances required to get Romero into the team as he's been a revelation.

I've gone for players who have been the best in their areas of the pitch rather than balance so as to avoid omitting two deserving players playing in the same position.

Ramsdale
Semedo Romero Gabriel Cucurella
Neves Rice Gallagher
Saka Bowen Son

Bowen naturally plays in the same position as Saka but Saka is a special talent and Bowen is versatile and often plays in a central position. I see this as a fluid front 3 anyway.

The two notable omissions are Kane and Ronaldo.

Kane wasn't interested until Conte turned up and he was so lacking in match fitness it took him until December to get going.

Ronaldo has a great goal tally but his attitude and body language on the field has been appalling at times. With his experience he should have been helping the players around him but he's had the opposite effect. I couldn't have a player like that in my team.

I would have more Brighton players than just Cucurella, some of their passing and attacking movement is wonderful to watch. Agree 200% on Ronaldo, he has been for a long time an all about himself poser.

GK Sa

RCB Romero
CB Virgil
LCB Gabriel

RWB Livramento
LWB Robertson

CM Neves
CM Bernado Silva
AM Kevin DB

LF Son
RF Salah

Son would be my only selection from Spurs this season.

In a full season with no injuries...I can see Romero for sure...and depending on how we fare..a few others.
