Premier League Match Thread: Southampton Vs Nottingham Forest, sponsored by Sam Surridge

Newcastle and ourselves both playing Bournemouth and Southampton in our first 2 games. With 5 mins left exactly the same results too
 
Bournemouth getting some shockers in the last couple of minutes and great to see someone else get these decisions and not us. Goal being disallowed looked 50/50 and Joelinton was a straight Red only a Yellow given

Where was the post where I was criticising other posters for wanting Muric, Chandos? Where was that?

I mean, you quoted it?

I stand by my comments here - absolutely nothing extreme in there and just people on a forum discussing the lineup and sharing thoughts.

You alone seem to enjoy the sport of NOT giving your opinions before the match and then gotcha-ing the people who have, no matter how fucking weak your material is

That's why I think there must be strikers out there who are actually rated that teams don't want to lose we can bring in for the same or less money and wages?

This isn't the 3m we paid Chelsea to take on CHO wages and potential risk?

And if we sign him we all get behind him

But we haven't signed him yet so I don't need to back the move just yet do I ?

I actually work with some Arsenal SC holders and they tell a different story.
Good quality EPL player - but not good enough to play in a team chasing the title and playing in the CL.
They think he will do a good job for us and help to take us to the next level

Oh yes, I see now. It was Basha's point on that, not you. Sorry about that. I can see why you got wound up

FWIW I did give my opinion before the match that it made sense for Milenkovic to be playing, and wondering ( like Stenroach) why it was so bad to select him instead of Boly. But on your point about Muric, you are correct.

But they are charging CL money and he's on silly CL wages??

That's the whole reason for concern?

The one thing we don’t have in midfield is that really disciplined, brick wall defensive midfielder. The player you bring on when you are determined to shut the game down.

Yates does bits of it but we need someone who just does that one thing.
 
Something we do have is a great spirit amongst the players

You can tell they are a happy group

Off the pitch we are positive now again as well

Some clubs in horrible states off the pitch with fan negativity and wanting their managers out already

Edit - add Wolves to the list ( just been on their forum. They hate their owners and want Gary o neil sacked already. Good time to play them )!!

You could find just as many praising him and wishing him well. There’s also the way Arteta spoke to and about him in the documentary about Arsenal. Given he could have said nothing or spoke about another player, it’s obvious he holds him in high regard.

Exactly!! Now imagine adding Nketiah, Chalobah and Ramsdale into this group?

Young English guys tapping into that spirit of CHO, MGW, Elanga, Wood, Yates, Aina etc

Can be very, very powerful and all 3 are possibilities to be added
