I would like to see Anderson and Gibbs White in the middle. Both have good engines, both have good football intelligence. If we go 3 at the back, I think it could work, or go 4-1-4-1
100% agree in both formations although would prob need a proper/better dcm if going 4141.

Just severely lacking in height if we lose sangare and Yates as defence and wingers not big either

Just leaves wood and Milo

Or add boly on of 3 at back as you say?

But surely we aren't paying huge JWP wages to be a sub ?
JWP has to start but could make it even more difficult to get the right balance…

Its obviously a 730 formation, thats required:

Aina, Boly, Milenkovic, JWP, Murillo, Elanga, Moreno
Anderson, Wood, MGW

Could we play JWP and Anderson in the middle and MGW free role ? Wide when defending but with license to come inside when we have the ball?

Sacrifice a winger for MGW?

JWP great at progressive passing himself

Or do we need MGW always in the middle if it all?
What the fuck is progressive passing?

Sounds like woke nonsense to me
No, that cannot possibly be correct.

As it does not exist it just has to be a Right Wing invention; more fake news.

The proof of the pudding will be when the knuckle draggers start kicking off about having their rights to talk about progressive passing removed or prohibited, and then continue to talk about it as they have done all along.

Sideways and backwards?
Yes, that makes sense, but it if they are viable alternatives, and passing is going to be compartmentalised purely on direction, why not just call it forward passing?

In this context, surely forward and progressive cannot have the same meaning.

A long diagonal?

A progressive pass, as defined by Opta and Wyscout, is a forward pass that attempts to advance the ball significantly closer to the opponent's goal.

I guess the little short passes they do backwards and forwards don't count

I've seen elsewhere it has to be 10 metres plus and/or 25 per cent plus of the distance to the goal to count

(Riskier passes that actually mean something. Apparently it's been a strength of JWP in the past)

Ahhhh..... Hollywood pass

I enjoyed the game yesterday, both teams had moments when they were in the ascendancy, but I do feel we did enough to win. Although as the second half went on we needed to up the tempo but didn't.

I've seen the Sangare stats but all I saw was Wolves passing triangles around him. He was a red card waiting to happen.

Nuno was a tad late in his substitutions, Silva is close to being a starter, Sosa was trying too hard and lost possession needlessly.

Anderson is a proper baller. Magnificent yesterday. 👏👏

I thought MGW was quiet by his standards but his England call up will add £20m to his value.

Williams final ball or shot isn't quite good enough. Aina to RB and start Moreno at LB.

Wood is immense, we need Awoniyi to get a goal and his confidence will return.

Danny Murphy on MOTD summed it up for me, he described us and Wolves as good teams.
We really are a good team, onwards boys!
Sangaré was very good in the #6 role. Without him on the pitch, Anderson does not have that game. He is inked-in for me.
We haven't had a 'proper' #6 at Forest for a generation, and not many Forest fans appreciate the 'under the radar' work that goes on. Without him in these three games, we would not have 5 points.
Yes, he needs to improve his passing when under pressure, but that will come.
