Could we play JWP and Anderson in the middle and MGW free role ? Wide when defending but with license to come inside when we have the ball?

Sacrifice a winger for MGW?

JWP great at progressive passing himself

Or do we need MGW always in the middle if it all?

If you sacrifice a winger, what is the point of JWP?

His passing is key and you would have no one running on

MGW in free role, the other winger and Wood? Plus wingbacks? Plus Anderson?

4-5-1

Would allow sangare or Yates with Anderson and JWP in middle

CHO or Elanga on one wing

MGW on other wing defensively but free role from there as well when we have the ball

Anderson has to be in the middle.

Yates or sangare can't play anywhere else.

Otherwise JWP instead of a winger which gives same problem Pope?

This what I said yesterday

If you do 4-1-4-1

Williams Milenkovic Murillo Moreno
‐-------------Anderson-----------
Elanga JWP MGW CHO

-----------------Wood------------

I like it other than lack of height for defending and attacking set pieces?

Think JWP or MGW could be more defensive in there with Anderson when needed too?

And maybe keep aina in for more height as well?

Could morato be one of the full backs maybe to add some height back in?

I would say that the top 8 argument where we can expect little home and away is valid, but with a couple of huge caveats …..

We seem better and more ‘streetwise’, harder to beat.
Compared to last season United, Chelsea, Newcastle have not improved and could be slightly worse in terms of quality
Spurs seem to have improved but they are ‘spurs’ and will do spurs things like draw with Leicester and then beat city away

Villa, Arsenal, City look as strong as ever. Liverpool won’t be as good as under Klopp

For sure we should consider ourselves as good or better than wolves, bournemouth, Brentford, Palace, Fulham etc

would have said west ham but their manager may improve them

We should also expect to compete well when we play Chelsea or man utd type teams

It feels right now that Wood is actually hitting his prime a little later in his career. Perhaps he'll be a Vardy or Sheringham who can carry on well into their 30s

I think it’s more the players around him. At Burnley, for the most part he had players who were barely Premier League quality around him and yet he still posted decent figures. Newcastle used him to build attacks from, not as a goalscorer.

Now at Forest he is both playing regularly and has players around him looking to play to his strengths. Nuno has form for this, having got Jimenez scoring goals for fun before his injury. He must be having the time of his life…

I would like to see Anderson and Gibbs White in the middle. Both have good engines, both have good football intelligence. If we go 3 at the back, I think it could work, or go 4-1-4-1
That could be a fun packed idea. Yates (or Sangare if he can switch his brain on) behind Anderson and MGW with JWP and Dominguez as cover.

I enjoyed the game yesterday, both teams had moments when they were in the ascendancy, but I do feel we did enough to win. Although as the second half went on we needed to up the tempo but didn't.

I've seen the Sangare stats but all I saw was Wolves passing triangles around him. He was a red card waiting to happen.

Nuno was a tad late in his substitutions, Silva is close to being a starter, Sosa was trying too hard and lost possession needlessly.

Anderson is a proper baller. Magnificent yesterday. 👏👏

I thought MGW was quiet by his standards but his England call up will add £20m to his value.

Williams final ball or shot isn't quite good enough. Aina to RB and start Moreno at LB.

Wood is immense, we need Awoniyi to get a goal and his confidence will return.

Danny Murphy on MOTD summed it up for me, he described us and Wolves as good teams.
We really are a good team, onwards boys!
