Premier League match thread: Nottingham Forest Vs Chelsea, sponsored by Tottenham Hotspur

Just got home. Ended up getting some dinner in Iceland on the way home and giving a bunch of Forest fans there the news.

Postecoglou is now officially the worst manager in Nottingham Forest's history. 160 years, no one has done worse as a permanent manager. No one has failed to win any of their first 8 games.

6 defeats, 2 points from 24. Horrific. 18 goals conceded in 8 games, just 7 scored. And only one scored in the Premier League.

That game was Postecoglou in a nutshell. We saw there why it will not work in the Premier League and why he must never manager here again.

For 30 minutes, we were very decent and Chelsea were very poor. We picked their pockets a few times, missed the chances (but that is always a possibility when your striker hasn't played for months) and generally played pretty well without having a shot on target. For 30 mins anyway. Last 15 Chelsea got better and took some control away from us, but not so much that I felt we had lost it or it was going away from us.

At half time I was thinking to myself that, after that half, if Forest could get a result, I would be ok with Postecoglou having more time. The attacking intent was pleasant. We have some excellent players. A result today against Chelsea puts us back towards mid table, it makes up for Sunderland, we could see how it goes at Bournemouth.

But I was also thinking that this is Angeball- it goes well for 30-45 minutes and then generally falls apart.

And it did within a couple of minutes of the restart.

Yes, we missed two ridiculous chances. But remember, we would only ever have scored one of them. Score the first one and the game changes and the second chance doesn't happen anyway.

But we were fucking awful in the second half.

Conceding three from set pieces is just a downright fucking disgrace. I defy anyone to defend that.

We lost 3-0 to a team that ended with 10 men and it didn't matter. In fact, I only noticed the red card after the game. The crowd didn't react and I had people streaming out in front of me so never even saw it.

From my point of view, the fans backed the team all the way through. I applauded every good move, I sang every song. I didn't even boo at the end. Postecoglou was getting pelters from the Chelsea end but it was a very rare forest fan joining in, certainly nothing around me. I don't know how @Thewolf/jimmygordon intends to blame our fans for this defeat today, only that he will do, and he will be wrong.

We are not a bad team. I certainly didn't like what I saw of Zinchenko, but I wouldn't say we had a bad performance across the pitch. And that's the same every week isn't it? It's hard to pick out the bad performances in every game I have seen so far, and yet we are losing every week.

20 years ago maybe.
Is it a bit harsh to say he got Newcastle relegated?
Either way not entirely sure that appointment gets the fans on side.
Not as bad as the Ange appointment I suppose.
Pretty low bar that though.
Who do you expect at this point in time?

We have to be realistic or people will be getting the razor blades out on here

Zinchenko was woeful. Slow and constantly turned inside out by Neto.

Haven’t been in Iceland for years!
Not sure we have them down here.
