What exactly is there to feel positive about when you look at our current situation?

Nuno can't dine out on those early wins against Newcastle and Man Utd forever. He is proving that he cannot get us winning the games we need to in order to stay up. He's even proven on four occasions that he cannot get us beating lower league teams in 90 minutes.

I admire your optimism, and it's unusual for me to feel so negative as I've always tended to look on the positive side of whatever situation we've been in, but I do not see anything about Nuno or this team that gives me confidence we'll stay up.

Our only hope is that Luton continue to be slightly worse than us.
I agree to an extent that Nuno isn't pushing this team on to better things as much as I had hoped.
I just don't see the point in some of the ridiculous comments about the team and let's get rid of the manager, as Popey pointed out 3 managers in a year normally ends one way.....down.
I am confident we will stay up because there are definitely 3 teams worse, Luton were shite yesterday, plenty of heart, nothing else.

The summer is the time to look at the manager, not now.

I think Luton Town will continue to be slightly worse, and si will Brentford.

A points deduction tomorrow virtually relegates us though. We don't look close to winning a game, because we will ALWAYS concede. If we suddenly find ourselves behind Luton we aren't catching them up again. It won't happen, because you need to win games and take points to go above people in the league table.

There may well be 3 worse teams in a general footballing way of open
Play that’s not where are problems lie but there definitely aren’t worse teams in 1 major basic area of the game defensive & attacking set pieces where we are losing most of our games.
You are right saying we were much better than Luton yesterday except in the key area of set pieces at both ends& it was that cost us along with the negativity of the subs , and it is that which will continue to cost us and possibly send us down

It's not three games in a row, it's four- but not all in the last 5 minutes

89th minute free kick against Man Utd
98th minute corner Vs Liverpool
Free kick in the first half Vs Brighton
89th minute corner Vs Luton

Four in a row. In fact, the last goal we conceded that wasn't a set piece was at Villa nearly a month ago.

Literally four points and four clean sheets thrown away in these recent games because of set pieces. If we could actually score some we might have won another game in there as well.

Set pieces are the single thing that is taking us down. It's embarrassing.

I mean, it can't be all that hard if Luton can do it?

In training though it's a chicken and egg. How do you train to defend against well taken set pieces when you haven't got a single person at the club capable of putting a well taken ball in the box to practice with?
It equates to almost a goal a game that we are conceding. Just from set pieces. Until we solve that we are always going to be in trouble and the fact that we are worse under Nuno is concerning.

Free kick on edge of box. MGW blasts over. Last week at Brighton Murillo struck it straight at goalkeeper. Remind me. When was the last time we had someone who could take a free kick. Andy Reid?
Cannot believe that on the set pieces front , include edge of the box free kicks we are no better than a non league team. Sometimes you see peaches of free kicks even in lower leagues, with us they are a non event, you don't expect any thing to happen. We used to have Raddy, McGugan plus offcourse Reidy...since in the Premiership...free kicks end up in Row Z or against the wall, not even trouble the keeper with a chance for a rebound from some other player.
In the last games ( v Liverpool and Luton) don't think Nuno could have done much wrong in his half time team talk...nd let's face it he tried to protect the lead in the last 10 minutes not in the last half hour.
We should have enough quality in that team to keep Luton at bay.

Andy Reid hardly scored any.

McGugan scored about 3 or 4.

The last really good taker was Earnshaw. His free kicks were better than his penalties

while the debate will continue about defending set pieces the problem with attacking set pieces is much easier and can summarised in just 3 words

Morgan
Gibbs
White

Everyone knows how to score against us, play for corners and we'll concede from one eventually.

They also know that when we concede the heads drop.

We're fucked and at least we won't have to worry about VAR for a while.

Will the club reduce ticket prices in the Championship?

With 23-24k the availability of seats will increase - which will be smashing - and an extra bonus of getting shot of the tourists, and 15 min crew, TBH

We haven't had a spare seat since we played Peterborough in December 21.

We were getting 25-27k even before the pandemic, since Karanka.

I wouldn't bet on tickets being that more readily available if we are relegated; unless we bomb in the championship that is

Hadn't Luton scored for the last 17 games?
Luton score goals, we were always likely to concede.
The 2 off line clearances, Origi couldn't do anymore, brilliant defending.
Elanga did everything right, clipped keepers legs and slowed the ball down.
Overall we were unlucky yesterday.

The subs didn't help, but you can see why he did it, tighten up and guarantee the points.

MGW at his age isn't going to suddenly become a dead ball specialist, he's a brilliant player but he's woefull dead ball and it's costing us goal chances, but who steps up?

I still reckon we'll stay up, we're not getting bummed in games, just fine lines.

although people moaning we concede late every week (which we fooking do) imo the issue is scoring. a second goal today kills the game but we are so wasteful and do not score enough atm

it could have been a lot worse, it was also looking a lot better for a long time.
On Match of the Day, Forest's XG was twice that of Luton Town- theirs was less than one.

I think, with losing Murillo, MGW, All of the defence, Sangare, CHO, Elanga, Awoniyi, Dominguez, Danilo, Aina, plus many others and the manager, the fans will follow too.
