Also new this season......

For the first time in Premier League history, the clubs will get a short mid-season break in February.

Over a two-week period, there will be only five matches on one weekend, with the other five games taking place the following weekend, ensuring that each team gets one week off.

.....where doubtless they will fly all over the world and play a friendly match

Late Feb to early April - critical set of fixtures with Leicester, Arsenal, Chelsea, rags and dippers in quick succession....

:rofl:Just seen it Colin - dippers get to start the season on the Friday night so they will almost certainly be 'top of the premier league table'

Ah well, I guess as they didn't finish the season on top, their fans can start bragging straight away that 'City are playing catch up'.

YCMIU.

The BBC.....always getting their priorities right. The opening paragraph from their article on the newly released fixtures.

Let's not bother by starting with the details of who the reigning champions, back to back titles winners and holders of the first domestic treble ever. No. We'll lead with who the runners up are facing.

"The 2019-20 Premier League season will start with Champions League winners Liverpool hosting promoted Norwich City on Friday, 9 August."

Noticeable that if Amazon's two game coverage is exclusive, and I'd be surprised if it isn't, that two fixtures in the first round are ones that Sky or BT would pick up - the Merseyside derby, and United-Spurs.

I have read somewhere Skoorb that this will not be allowed under the terms of the break

They said last season that Liverpool had the easier run in, now they are complaining that City have a seemingly easy run in, perhaps the Premier Guys should only give us 2 points for a win and nothing for a draw
