Pre season

Two interesting facts from this fixture.

Taylor and Mighten not in Spain but on U21 duty. With them in team run up a three nil lead by half time. Powell and Donnelly in a strong first half team.

Change all 11 for second half. Still a good but very young team. B’muff score 2 late consolation goals. Game never in danger.

Youngsters Taylor, Mighten, Bott, Back, Donnelley, Powell get time here and are likely to go out on loan. Abbott is in Spain. Does this indicate he is ready to step up or Forest are short of a CB and he fills spot till Milo settles in. Toff played 45 in back 3.

Would suggest the named youngsters plus Abbott are potential loanees. Hopefully championship level. Onsong already on loan at Rotherham.

I believe both first team and B team are in Spain on training camp

The goals I saw looked like Sunday morning football! Lol

Maybe so but Taylor's goal for Wycombe in the pressure of a cup final at Wembley last season was anything but Sunday league.

As another poster has said part of being a good forward is being in the right place and putting them chances away. Also from what I saw of the highlights Taylor looked busy, involved and created opportunities for mighten as well.

All of the lads need a champsionship loan, then we'll truly see their mettle...rather than lauding a one-off wonder strike.

Shame that Osong's current level is 3rd division only.

Lets hope he rips it up, Brennan Johnson style, up to Christmas; and a top-ranked Champs side pushes for him in 2025.

I can only see Taylor, Mighten, Donnolly et al interesting League 1 sides, who wish to do us a favour, unfortunatley.

Haven’t looked to see whether his loan is until January or for the season. And if so whether there is a release clause.

That being said he is better playing a whole season in league one than going for a Championship loan and potentially struggling for game time.

I dont think Donnelly will have too much trouble finding a loan; he has had consecutive L1 and Scottish PL loans, where he gave a really good account of himself despite missing 10 games through injury - he will be probably ready for a step up.

Mighten may struggle.

Taylor is a different proposition altogether - how many lower league clubs will take a chance on loaning a young striker who relies on skill rather than his physical attributes?

Osong has managed to get a loan, but he is a physical specimen who will not be phased by the aggressive nature of L1 football, and he knows where the net is, which is always a plus.

Taylor coped really well last season, albeit playing out of position; another season of that will not do him any harm, that is if anyone has the foresight to take him on loan.

its the ages we were referencing, not the club/ability
Well, really, its about development, and the kids reaching their level.

Yamal is clearly a world-class talent at 16/17.
As such, his exposure is going to be massive - barca/spain - and his ability protects that exposure.

My point was, Taylor/Mighten/Donnolley/Osong etc, they are (obviously) not in the same league as Yamal.
As such, their exposure shouldnt be the same.

Whilst a social vid is clearly different to being watched by millions at the Euros, it is still a presentation that is reaching thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of Forest fans.

The lads do not need that pressure, IMO, unless one of them suddenly bursts forth and claims an EPL starting berth.
That, IMO, should not be the case following a training exercise vs Bournemouth's kids.

What about Zach Abbott, he is only 18. What do you think will happen with him.

Another one who has developed physically; I would think he will have little trouble finding a loan
I hope he gets another runout today - he has earned it.

He may not be loaned but if he does I wouldn’t read too much into it if he is loaned to league one rather than the championship. As I said regarding Osong, it is better he gets the regular game time rather than struggle to get minutes…

Trip to Spain now finished. Fringe players can go train with B team. Real work starts now. All physically fit apart from Awoniyi.

Fancy we will set up as a back three v Oly and a two v Villareal. Bournemouth a two, unless something catches fire. The problem with a back three is being short in midfield. Nuno must have some clarity by now. He has had the majority of this squad for 7 months.

Couple of additions could make a big difference. Room in 25.

Any 3 of ours in midfield look ok actually but any 2 feel a bit short so my money would be on 3 in midfield

Tonights Forest "B" match at Alfreton abandoned as a Forest player was rushed to hospital after a clash of heads leaving no first aid cover at the ground.
