Potted History Of Darlington

Can't get to the match. Haven't been to the new ground. Been to Feethams several times, and the stadium before the current one . Previously quite a friendly atmosphere.
Played on Feethams a few times, back in the day. Away changing room was tiny. Been to watch the millers there also, same with the big ground after that. Think we lost, not sure though without checking.

Very local to us (Boro).
I used to go to Feethams in my (much) younger days to watch them if Boro weren't playing, also been many times when they played us in pre season friendlies (at the arena too).
Last time I was at the arena was for a COVID jab!!

Saw Boro play at Feethams in an FA Cup tie (mid 80's), we were dumped out by them and the scenes before, during and after that match were disgusting.

After they left the arena, they played for a few seasons at nearby Bishop Auckland, and now they play at Blackwell Meadows - I've driven past it many times but never been in, I think they share the facility with a rugby club.

Was it the Arena where they shared with the rugby club and had two stands each? And neither club could use the others stands? I remember going and it was a weird set-up. Think we lost.

Team news... 4-4-2? 3-5-2? who knows? (looks awful)

Cann, Hall, Agbaire, Trialist A, Trialist B, Cover, Ashley, Spence (capt.), Kaleta, Triaiist C, Martha

Subs - Turner (GK ,Trialist D), Rafferty, Buyabu, Adeboyega, Gardner, Nemane, Jellis, Lee, Tavares, Trialist E, Trialist F, Trialist G

Trialist Lees not yet fit enough to play, despite all the recommendations from Radio Sheffield that we should sign him!
Still out injured - Douglas, Duncan

3min - Millers take the lead (Trialist C scored from close range after a Darlo error)!
5min - Spence puts the Millers two up! Shot from inside the penalty area.

HT : Quakers 0 Millers 2

46 min Buyabu (MIllers debut) , Turner (GK, Trilaiist D) and Jellis on.

63min ON - Rafferty, Nemane, Tavares, OFF - Martha, Hall, Trialist (?)

75min ON - Adeboyega, Lee, two Trialists, OFF - Agbaire, Cover, Spence, Trialist (?)

FT : Quakers 0 Millers 2

Set off brightly and generally played well, but after first few minutes, couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo - many good scoring chances were blazed high or wide. Darlo keeper didn't have to save much. We desperately need somebody who can regularly score goals - none of our current players are capable of doing that.

Trilaist A = Otoo, Trialist B = Williams, Trialist C = Anderson, Trialist D = Turner, Trialist E =Davies, Trialist F = McAdam, Trialist G = Aljofree

Sounded like Buyabu had good debut. (y)
