any links guys? I've scoured T'internet in all the usual places and come up empty handed.

Seems that Danny is aware of Social Media (or perhaps he reads Vitals) because I've heard him before he seems quite prickly about some of the comments about the players or performances that he obviously feels is harsh. It;s the one thing that surprises me

When you care so much and put in the research and hours he does then I understand why that is so when armchair managers criticise.
I agree I think dome of the keyboard warriers just like to see themselves on the screen or more keen on the number of posts than sense. A good example is the comment re Smith after 2 games in the EfL one can be unimpressed, personally I think hes doing well as are the rest of the squad ..

There's always someone willing to put the boot in, no matter how successful you become.. Developing a thick skin comes with the job I think.

I think what has disappointed DC is the immediacy of the criticism- starting after Game 1 (which we won!). First game of the season!

I have said on this site- the Bury game was an excellent win but because we didn't play like a PL team, the criticism seemed considerable on here and other social media.

We are top of the league and deserve to be there- whether we are there in 41 games time is in the lap of the gods.

I don't see much outright, unjustified criticism on here. I see a lot of praise and some "We could do this better" type comments.

I'm not sure what the issue is.
I think he doesn't appreciate the criticism/ observations about the rotation policy. In the pre match interview it was the first time I'd got the sense that he was digging his heels in on something.

I agree with that. I thought Rob Makepeace when he did the pre match press conference (I think it may have been before Bury) started with something like "if I said 22 what you say?" referring to the the number of changes to the starting line-up. Seemed to me that it rubbed Danny up the wrong way and was a poor way to start an interview.

Perhaps Danny should ask Rob a question at the next one "If I said 1st what would you say?"

Let's not have a Crewe moment in reverse.

That said, it was one of the big questions on our minds. In the past we have been critical of reporters for not asking such questions. But you are right it could have been handled better.
Definitely a valid question but I think that sometimes the way they are asked irritates. Rob Makepeace can sometimes try to be too clever rather than just asking the question. Does Peter still get in to the press conferences with his West Ham trivia?

Agree r.e. Makepeace. I thought that was a bit of a poor first question and a good way to get the manager back up immediately.

He might not have meant it quite like that, but as first questions go, it came across as getting stuck into DC with a criticism straight away.

Do you think we are worse than any other club?

In all honesty, as our expectations have increased, we have become akin to a lot of other forums and our comments have re-aligned with general fans comments when their team loses- certainly we were less critical (IMO) during the first 2 seasons

Sadly no Peter at the press conference!
He works for Lincoln United i think now.

I think there is more praise on this forum than critical comment. But it is all part of the territory of being a manager. I am sure Danny can take it, but he probably gets fed up of the banal questions he gets asked by the amateurs from radio Lincs.
