Two away matches in four days, Portsmouth Tuesday night, Wrexham Friday night thanks to Sky.

So the week pans out like this -

Saturday match day, Sunday rest day, Monday travel day, Tuesday match day, Wednesday rest day, Thursday travel day, Friday match day.

Round trips totalling 646 miles.

First up a trip to Fratton Park and the city of Portsmouth, Hampshire, on the South Coast and historical home to the Royal Navy.


Pompey are in 19th place, 5 points clear of the bottom three on 40 points

Swansea are in 14th place on 49 points

On Saturday Portsmouth drew 1-1 at fellow strugglers Blackburn. After taking the lead in the 84th minute they conceded an equaliser in the 93rd minute with two minutes left.

Surprisingly they beat form team and third in the table Millwall 1-3 at The Den three matches ago and the match before that they won 1-3 at Charlton.

With average home gates of 20k they are well supported and it will be no easy task to get something there,

Vitor Matos will be tempted to rotate the line-up for this one with another match to play on Friday.
 
Haven’t really seen much of Portsmouth this season, from what people have said they aren’t playing badly and I think it’s going to be tough tomorrow. We never do very well up there either. I’d be happy with a point in this one.

West Brom: Played 19, Points 12 (68%)

Only three other clubs in the Championship have a lower average attendance than Swansea, they are Blackburn, Oxford and Wrexham.

Blackburn has a 31.3k capacity ground, but Oxford 12.5k and Wrexham 12.6k only have small capacity grounds.
 
All change next season with the play-offs involving six teams by including those in seventh and eighth position.

With third and fourth position teams going straight to the two leg semi-finals, the other four battle it out with a one leg quarter-final, fifth at home to eighth, sixth at home to seventh.
 
Expected more changes tonight with a game on Friday. Widell and Yalcouye would have brought some freshness to the team. I like Matos but his midfield dynamic away from home does puzzle me at times. Fulton deep with Galbraith ahead of him, slightly puzzled. We’ll see how it plays out and I may be wrong but I foresee Galbraith having to drop very deep to start our build up from the centre half’s..
