The Politics Thread

Due to the reality TV style politics we seem have in this country following our friends across the pond, Hancock is probably more likely to be sacked from having an affair by a leader who has serious game in having affairs, than for the gross negligence and incompetence which has killed 130k and where the backlog of incompetence will kill tens of thousands more.

I obviously don’t condone him having an affair especially during a pandemic - surely he’s broke his own rules and disregard for other people separated from seeing loved ones. But there is a part of me that doesn’t care about his private life, except this has crossed over into work.

Shame he wasn’t sacked months ago though.

Has Cunmings released these by any chance?

He really is a sly dog, you’d never give him a job working for you would you - if indeed it was him.

Do you think Bojo will sack him for having an affair?

Obviously Boris does need to steer clear of sacking people purely for having an affair.

But Hancock is nailing his own coffin here as he’s employed someone who he has an intimate relationship with so there appears to be a conflict of interest, he’s been unprofessional as a member of cabinet having an affair with an aide, and finally, he’s broken his own COVID no touching, hugging and kissing rules.

He’s always going to be Boris’ scapegoat, and it’s the perfect timing for Boris to make that call whilst he can deflect from just adultery.

Well, that’s logical at least but this is the Tories...

Boris won't care. He will be more peeved off cos its far more difficult for him to replace the space Carrie left by marrying him

Once upon a time his resignation would already be in and he would be gone. Not anymore. He hasn't gone for far worse go, he won't go for this
