About time really:

The G7 group of advanced economies has reached a "historic" deal on taxing multinational companies.

UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak said the agreement was designed to create a level playing field for global companies.

"After years of discussion, G7 finance ministers have reached a historic agreement to reform the global tax system to make it fit for the global digital age,"

It's interesting that Biden is leading the charge on this. Radical but boring was how one commentator described him.

The companies will no doubt find a way round it.

They already have a way around it, Ireland, we the paddies told them to F'off :ROFLMAO:

I am interested to see how the EU attempts to implement it and what magical loophole will allow them/us to continue the bullshit. I will say if Sinn Fein manages to seize control of the Government they'll probably back the plan.

Thats one thing I'll say about Ireland, if we were half as creative with our other issues as we were with tax law we might not be so reliant on outside industry.

Parts of the North of England and the Midlands will lose parliamentary seats while areas in the South gain under proposals for a shake-up of England's electoral map in 2023.
The Boundary Commission for England says the aim is to make Parliament fairer by giving each MP a roughly similar number of voters.
It means redrawing and renaming some seats.
Scotland and Wales will see their total cut - while England gains 10 MPs.

Poor old Gerry Mandering has been pulled out of retirement again.

So much for the Northern Powerhouse and not focusing south of the Watford gap! I do agree though, we need more London centric Southern, out of touch and affluent areas deciding how they spend money on themselves.

That will go down well, so clumsy, at a time the SNP are ramping up for an independence vote. This will aid their cause.

Tory MP for Lichfield in Staffordshire, Michael Fabricant, says the changes show "no knowledge" of his constituency.
"It divides Lichfield Trent Valley station in two and cuts off the eastern edge of Lichfield itself. Frankly, it's a nonsense," he said.
He added: "It bears all the hallmarks of boundaries drawn in the 19th and 20th centuries by Whitehall mapmakers in days of empire without any knowledge or care of the regions and people concerned."

Not to worry, I'm sure it will only be treated as yet another "minor technical breach"

I find it a sad sign of the times, that these things just aren’t newsworthy. Disaster capitalism at its finest though, you can get away with these things just like the Yanks have been doing and we need to imitate
