Over 53,000 in attendance, which demonstrates the strength of support in NL - and neither club from top 3 positions! Certainly, an added argument in favour of 3 up 3 down.

Also, worth noting is that Oldham had 3 former Poolies in their lineup, all of whom were deemed not good enough by the Pools fans and management.

Can't imagine how crass it must feel to have come 2nd and 3rd by a long margin and have a team with far fewer points promoted ahead of you. Whose bonkers idea was this?

Playoffs are a stupid idea, especially if you fall a the final hurdle when out front throughput the season. But, if you come from nowhere to secure promotion (as Pools did, beating Stockport and Torquay on the way) it can be cause for celebration.
