Neil Critchley has revealed that Blackpool’s players have now been given individual training programmes, as the Club continues to conform with guidelines surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic.

A statement released from the football authorities yesterday stated that all football will now be postponed until 30 April at the earliest, while the EFL has advised no training until 3 April.

“We’d planned on keeping our players training, but we’ve taken government advice and the advice of the footballing authorities and decided, at this moment in time, that it would be better for our players to be on individual programmes for the next few weeks. We’ll keep monitoring that and taking advice as we go,” the Seasiders’ Head Coach said.

“We’ve got good staff and we’ve put the trust in the players. We have communication with the players on a daily basis. They know that we’re here to help them.

“There are some things that are bigger than football. This is a life issue and a society issue. We all have to be responsible, listen to the advice that is being given to us and follow the guidelines.

“It’s important to look after yourselves and look after each other. If we do that, then we can look forward in the weeks and months ahead to being healthy and enjoying our football again,” he added.
