Players Latics have turned round.

Vital Football Hero
Quite a few footballers have come to our amazing little club who prior to being at Latics had struggled or not been too impressive with their last clubs.
Three I can think of who performed pretty well at Wigan after previously struggling are.,..
Emilie Heskey
Charles N'Zogbia
Titus Bramble
There are loads more, so can we name a few more?

I think Nick Powell could be one, added with Dan Burn. Just players I feel were massively under-rated or in Nick Powell's case just needed the perfect moment, aided by the manager.

Jason Roberts couldnt get a game in the Prem at Pompey on loan but became a regular at that level with us 18 months later.

Kirkland was seen the man of glass but he went on to play for us regularly and had some good seasons.

Palacios hadn't done much at Birmingham on loan but did well enough to be sold for 11m profit 18 months later.

Valencia hadn't done much since moving to Spain but became a 16m player with us.

Naismith struggled in L1 at Pompey but became a good Championship player for us.

Maloney struggled in the Prem for Villa and seemed to become the forgotten man at Celtic before becoming a talisman for us.

Caldwell was surplus to requirements at Celtic but was player of season for us.

DiSanto had flopped out on loan from Chelsea but found his feet with us.

Yanic did nothing at Boro but we sold him for about 7m profit within 12 months.

Matt Jackson was pretty much on the scrap heap at Norwich but he eventually became a Prem regular with us.

Camara was undoubtedly talented but erratic and bouncing round clubs but found consistency with us getting his highest number of top flight goals.

Alan Mahon was a squad player at Blackburn but went on to be a Prem regular in our first season after promotion.

Perkins was released and not wanted by a terrible Blackpool side but was player of the season for us and a real dynamo.

Nathan Byrne was a poor right winger at Wolves but became one of the best attacking right backs in the Championship.

Kieran Dowell form collapsed prior to joining us where he regained it and went on to a bigger club.

Melchiot had an unimpressive last 12 months at Birmingham but was pure class for us.

Diame's heart problems put a number of teams off giving him a chance but after his spell with us he had some successful top flight moves.

That's an impressive list of players and that is before adding all the great players we have made from humble beginnings.
Wigan Athletic is such a fantastic club for players to start, build, enhance or kick-start their careers.
We have helped produce so many fantastic players over the years, what a club!!!!
