So, Pizza Express has reveals all chicken it uses for it's pizzas are slaughtered in line with the koranic ritual killing. ie. having it's throat slit while still alive and NOT stunned beforehand......

Yeah, I've read that....... I used to use Subway, but I've boycotted them now and Pizza Express goes on my list too. They can go forth and multiply for all I care..... and I'm sure I'm not on my own either!

 
I honestly do not see the big deal with this.

My meat is killed and cooked. How it ends up on my plate I don't care.
 
To quote Buddha, 'there is no salvation without compassion for every living being'. Not giving a crap about the suffering of what ends up on your plate says it all.

Most of it BB, but I actually respect their 'cultures' over there - that is the difference. Can you imagine me going back there and wanting to open an abattoir using the more humane stunning process? I can tell you now, probably not a bloody chance.


Besides, I used to get my PORK (bacon, steaks etc) from a shop which specialises in importing for the expats from Australia etc.

A very small %age of Halal meat is killed without stunning the animal first - it's a fairly extreme interpretation. Most of the animals are stunned and then a blessing is given as the slaughter-man cuts the throat.
 
Don't start coming on here with facts Cheshire!

I'll still buy from both, all that happens (as Cheshire says) is they bless their meat.

Do we think all 'our' meat is killed humanely !?

If anything I pity anybody that can think that way. It just shows how far humanity has regressed in my opinion.

Oh it's only a small percentage, a small percentage of a million animals is still a large amount, but it's just a small percentage who have their throats slit without being stunned, well that make's it all okay then doesn't it.

If you really must murder animals for your food source or have others do it for you, the least you can do is find the suffering involved unacceptable.

To not care speaks volumes.

None, but I wasnt talking about us as individuals, but the people in the abattoir game.

Animals are raised to be killed for food, how they are killed is irrelevant to me.
