Pirates vs. Drunken Sailors

No Lee Evans again and probably ever again - trying not to be cynical but 🤔 seems v. convenient
It will be for financial reasons. We likely have to pay him a huge appearance fee for every game he plays. I bet a hefty goal bonus is in there as well. Admins have probably told Richardson we can't afford to pay it and therefore he isn't allowed to feature.

If thats the case then tell us that instead of bullshit like calf strains etc, have we not had enough lies and bullshit over the past eight months?

M,k,Don's at home might tight, but hopefully wimbledon away is the aim 👍

Cheers Ben, much appreciated, keep the nuggets of info coming and don't get wound up by uninformed speculation or mischievous trolling on here, many of us have been beaten down by events over the last 8 months and are now prone to looking for something negative or underhand in every situation. Your (apparently well informed) messages are a massive boon in the space like vacuum of non disclosure and lack of information in which we currently reside.

All,you idiots doubting that evans, doesn't want to play are so wide of the mark it ridiculous,he will be back in the next 2/3 weeks.he' s been pushing himself to get fit, unfortunately players coming back from mid to long term injures often aggravate, something else .

Try not to refer to posters just expressing a view as idiots if you don't mind. Just trying to support the club through this shitshow makes us feel like idiots but could do without the confirmation.

From what Leam Richardson said the other day, I don't think that Lee Evans' issues have just been physical

On to tonight's game, if we apply ourselves the way we did against Lincoln then this could be a much needed win tonight. The only thing that worries me is like so many times we are yet again playing against a team with a new manager (albeit Joey Barton). I'm sure that we get more than our fair share of clubs in their new manager honeymoon period, to the point of paranoia. Still going for 2 nil to us though!

Barton usually plays 4231, Bristol rovers have been playing 3-4-1-2. After reading some comments from their last two games they changed to playing the long ball under caretaker widdrington, created a lot of chances, were wasteful. Made mistakes at the back and the general feeling the central defenders aren't good enough. Which sounds a bit like us, 20 shots last game, hit the woodwork 2 or 3 times, missed several good chances and then conceded two second half.

Teams with players that never score usually score against us, hopefully we have enough energy in the team to press and force problems like Saturday.

Bartons quoted today as stating his ambition is to Bristol Rovers out of L1
Let's hope a good pasting from latics tonight will offer him a good start to meet that objective -out of L1into L2 🤣
Correct Hugh
Barton said on local TV news, there is no point coming here to just stay mid table, the point is to be promoted, he must have been repeating what he said at his interview.
So the Pirates will be fired up.
First went down (when working in Manchester) to see latics play them at the Eastville dog track, loads of gasometers on land next to the stadium, hence their other nickname.

Latics: Jones (Capt); Darikwa, Wootton, Tilt, Robinson, Ojo, Aasgaard; Solomon-Otabor, Lang, Keane, Dodoo
Subs: Evans, Whelan, Johnston, Clough, Perry, Massey, Gardner

Looking a bit thin in midfield

Looks like they're playing 4231, they don't seem too happy with Harries starting and Ayunga on the bench.

Are we 4312? Or 433? Otabor behind dodoo and keane or them as a front three? 2nd half on sat we had Aasgaard, Ojo and Lang as the midfield 3. Could even be 4231 with Ojo and Aasgaard sitting.

Forgot to mention the last time they played 4 at the back Accrington scored 6 and had 24 shots, 11 on target. They've mostly played with 3.
