Does anyone have any phobias? For the last month or so when going to bed/sleep ive started to have a phobia of dying. Not sure why, where its come from etc but it freaks me out(and it only comes on when I go to bed). During the day if I think of dying it dosnt have any effect on me - just seems to be at night.

Its the only only phobia I have and its just entered my life(recently) some how.

Anyone else have any worries/phobias?

well you are religious arnt you? so surely you believe you will go to heaven and live for eternity on the pearly gates? so why would you ve affraid of dying? is it becausr you kmow deep down its a load of bolloney!

phobias.... heights... and anything to do with heights.

and space - freaks me out

Its more the act of dying that scares me Col, rather than death itself. And yeah, the unknown, the end of what I know, the end of me etc. Its Scary stuff that has bothered me of late.

Even for the religious there is still a massive uncertainty.

I used to be terrified of dieing however not anymore. I don't think it is the dieing so much, it is how you die and how long it will take. Sadness with it too, as leaving those you love for me.

Sounds to me GT has if the universe is pushing you to do some inner delving in your life and spiritually grow.

Phobia's: Only 1 really. I can't stand the sight or even the word of snakes. In Greek it is ta fildes/to fildi. The 1st is the plural and the last singular. It is pronounced as filthy clipped. About damn right.

My daughter and her fella have told there house share to get the pet snake, the couple have removed from their home for a fortnight in September when we go to visit them. Even though it can't get loose I can't cope with the thought of it being there.

I would have had too, but thank fully my daughter is considering me in this as she knows how bad I am over them.

When they were younger and we used to go to the zoo I would come to the snake part, put my eyes fast forward and walk straight through and let my Mom or their Father show them the snake area properly. Just can't do it

i get that. im not really affraid of death but the thought of my parents at my funeral scares me alot.

I find snakes really freaky. They give me the creeps just looking at them in a pet shop or whatever. Strangely, when I've seen them in the jungle, I find them as fascinating as any other animal.

So you lack faith.

I popped over for a visit, it's not the end, it's not the end of what makes you you, sorry, there was no beardy dude in robes, or a fallen angel welcoming me to eternal damnation, a bit of music plays, a congrats screen comes up and it's welcome to level two :35:

Enjoy life, pointless worrying over the inevitable.

Phobias, I have the greatest respect for heights, but still climbed mountains, I used to fear failure, but then realised that as long as you haven't given up, you haven't failed, and I don't give up.

Got no phobias.

If I had, I'd conquer them I think, as no point living your life in fear of things.

I guess with my past, a good few bad things have already happened, can't get much worse than a brain op, all my ribs broken and held up by a metal bar that then shifted (another emergency op) etc.

Fear of dying? Nope, I'll embrace it when it comes. Don't think anything happens after, if it does, I'll embrace that too! I do want to survive my parents, only fair, but that isn't a phobia, it is something I have no control over so don't give it space in my head to worry about.

I used to be petrified of rats, but an nlp fast phobia release seems to have put that one to bed. Saw one the other day and would have squirmed for hours in the past, but nothing. Might have been different if confronted by one late at night and not separated by a window though. Also this one was a posh country rat, if it was a wet sewer rat again might have been different.

Also walking over the tunnel from the car park to Selfridges or looking down from the top floor of the bullring sends my legs quite funny.

Mine is snakes. Thankfully I've never really had any close-up experiences in real life, but even seeing them on the TV sends shivers up my spine.

Large, tarantula size , spiders. I really don't like them at all. I was once bitten by a small spider and my finger was extremely swollen for a week. Handled snakes etc no problem although not keen on them touching my face.
Spent time on friends farm in Australia and he had an Emu and that kept pecking at my face which was disconcerting but I'm not phobic about it.
He also had two rescued Kangeroos which were semi tame but are extremely powerful and could easily kill you if they got excited.

I'm not good with heights. Not that a fear of heights is necessarily irrational, falling from them tends to do serious damage.

Green Tea,
When you are woken suddenly and in streams of sweat frightened shitless about dying, does an image of Heathfield Road enter your mind ?

:19:

He he, no not quite Clubpaver.

Its not a massive phobia I have, its more a scared(mixed with sadness) feeling that its all going to end. Its quite strange because those scared of heights & flying could maybe fall into that similar category, as deep down its probably just a fear of falling, crashing - so fear of death aswell?

I'm lucky, I can't wait.

I do hope my death will be ridiculous enough to make people laugh. I have a strong suspicion a cow will land on my head.

Few years back I was driving up the m5 or was it the 6 and a herd of cows were crossing an over the road bridge. I thought oh cool. It's come at last, but nope, bastard cows just kept on walking.

:19: :19: :19:

Be my luck to be immortal, or maybe as I'm sure most of you suspect as you worship me so much. I'm the third coming?

Spiders scare the holy be geebies out of me, the Mrs has to remove them for me, not so long back was on the bog reading the paper as you do and saw one on the floor, i stamped banged with all my might on thefloor until she came in the bathroom and removed it for me while i had me kegs round me ankles lifting my two feet as high as i could up off the floor, us men have to do what we have to do to survive!
